I was curious to see if any other guys, that are attracted to trans women like I am, have a particular thing or things that they prefer in a trans woman?

For starters, I am only attracted to those that are passable in their looks and what I mean is that the average person would not be able to tell that they were once a man. Sorry, just not attracted to a trans woman that looks like she could have played linebacker for the Chicago Bears.

'Passable' is an unwelcome term, but I get where you're coming from. I support the England Women's Football ( soccer ) Team and Arsenal Women's FC and there are some players I would not challenge to a fist-fight and there are others who are actual fashion models. I was blessed with transitioning during Covid so job related people think I'm my sister, if they only knew. Being passable was/is tough. As an avid runner with long legs and tight ass draws men as quick as anything. I did opt for removal of my testes and sack so the HRT works better. I have a supportive sister and secretary. What surprises most is the fun of being a girl and enjoying ourselves. Riding bikes or canoeing impress men the most. Plus those events show my rear better. Think of a six foot tall volleyball player. Sex is great but if there is no connection I wouldn't think about it. Women are as interested as men. Yes, I have a girlfriend and yes she has shared me in relationships.

Body shaming women (cis and trans) is what our society does! I must admit that I have been guilty of it myself. Whenever I read any slam directed at transgender women (facial hair, bone structure, etc) you can be absolutely sure that thousands of times more cisgender women “suffer” from the exact same lack of femininity. One of the biggest factors in a trans woman's ability to "pass" is what treatment they're able to access during adolescence. If a teen thinks they might be trans female, puberty blockers will prevent them going through male puberty (voice deepening, more body hair, all the other things that kick in for teenage boys). That gets them a few years to figure out whether this is really want they want. If they don't, they can stop taking the blockers and go through male puberty. If they do, once they're old enough to make those permanent decisions, they can go through more permanent transition.

OTOH, if a trans girl is not able to access those kinds of treatments during adolescence, she will go through those changes. After that, "passing" as a cis woman is much harder - there are various options like facial feminisation surgery, tracheal surgery for the voice, etc. but they cost money that a lot of trans women don't have.

This is a pretty upsetting situation for most trans girls - going through body changes they don't want, taking them further away from who they need to be. It also makes life harder for them afterwards. Not that it's easy for any trans woman, but those who can't pass are at higher risk of discrimination and assault.

So when people walk into a LGBT forum and say something like "I'm only attracted to trans women who can pass"... it's a bit like walking into a hospital burns ward and saying "I'm only attracted to women without scars". You're telling people they're unattractive on account of an experience they didn't want, one that's brought them a lot of trouble already. You're rubbing salt into somebody's wound.

Everybody gets to have their preferences. We might not get a lot of choice about who we're attracted to. But be kind in how and where you express it.

(Also, if that is your preference, you better be doing all you can to support the right of trans teenagers to access the treatments they need to delay those irreversible changes until they're old enough to make their own choice.)

I have talked to her about her childhood and she says that her wishes were respected and she wore girl’s clothing and had her hair long. I am sure that at some point she must have been wearing male clothing but it doesn’t seem to have been an issue for her. I have seen photos of her as a kid and she always looked feminine.

I wasn't body shaming. It's called a preference. We all have things that attract us to others and I merely stated those things that I may find attractive in a trans woman. I'm NOT going to be attracted to a trans woman if she does not possess those qualities that I find attractive, simple as that. I'm not body shaming anyone.
