That's good to know. Thanks!
Xelebes said:Just saw Pan's Labyrinth last night. I enjoyed it muchly. It's a hard hitting one, especially one for a Spanish Gothic film.
I've heard good things about this movie. What is it about?
amadaun said:Saw "Notes on a Scandal" yesterday, and really liked it... if you've ever wanted to see Judi Dench play a lesbian sociopath and Cate Blanchett play a convicted pedophile, this is your movie!
A convicted pedophile and a sociopath? This doesn't sound like my sort of movie.
What did you really like about it?
Is it a darkly comedic film?
Evil_Geoff said:The Professional rocked. But that is the title used in it's US release. In the UK it was Leon, and other parts of the world got it as The Cleaner. Jean Reno, as Leon, was great!
As for Silent Hill Dark, brooding, moody. The ending wasn't a WTF if you were paying attention... An "alternate dimension"? *chuckles* That's one way of putting it...
Okay, who saw the American version of The Ring? And please, please, PLEASE, tell me I am not the only person who saw this piece of trash, cliche' filled, sorry excuse of a film and predicted it scene for scene from the opening to the ending credits! ! ! ! I kid you not, I watched it with janey (she's a horror fan and had watched it several times, thought she was giving me a treat *rolls his eyes*), I knew nothing of the original movie or this one, and started telling jane what the next scene would be as each scene wound up... Including the "surprise ending". GAG.
The only thing I think I dislike in a movie more than predictability is insulting the intelligence of the audience and The Ring rates right down at the bottom with Napoleon Dynamite and anything with Pauly Shore in it.
I saw Eragon at the $1.50 theater this afternoon... glad I didn't waste $8.00 for it, but was mildly entertained for the 1:39 playing time. Not epic fantasy like LOTR, and they played with the story details a bit from the novel, but the flavor was spot on for juvenile fantasy. Not a bad flick if you like swords and sorcery tales.
I'm going to have to look [B[The Professional[/] up!
I saw The Ring and didn't like it. It did creep me out. First of all a child was in it, that often does me in. Second, once the whole thing was figured out, the situation didn't resolve or get better, that really bothers me. I did like Ring 2 much better. It made better sense. Oh and I did have trouble sleeping for at least three nights after watching the first one.
I agree with you about Napoleon Dynamite. I was shocked at how bad it was after all the hype.
I haven't read or seen Eragon but it looked a little like a recycled LOTR to me.
leeroy jenkins said:Ok you big meany you just spoiled the movie for others, but answer me this when Chris was in the school and his wife was too, where was she at?? She was I think calling out to the kid, but he could somehow hear her across the fabric of reality. Or was it when she entered the town, the evil part of her kid still in kid form pulled her into that different reality?? How is it that the cop didn't know all the people were still living in the church either??
I go with what you say about the ending though, reminds me of that show Tales from the Darkside. I would show a picture of the world and the darkside had all the color leeched out so it was just gray.
Didn't ruin it for me but now I finally know which movie y'all be talking about!
Woot!

I watch a lot of Grays anatomy because of my wife but the last good movie I watched was The Illusionist with Edward Norton.
We almost rented The Ilusionist today. Maybe we will get it next time.
I don't know much about Gray's Anatomy.
leeroy jenkins said:Anyone see The Covenant?? Its the movie about a group of boys that are the reincarnated selves of warlocks from the 15th century. Looks interesting.
How many people are going to watch Ghost Rider when it comes out in less then 2 weeks?? I would watch it on Friday but going to hit the movies on Saturday.
No, I've not seen it yet.
No, I'm not planning on seeing it right away, when it comes out.
