Lorenza Shane very first meeting

Climbing from the jeep she looked around. Far enough away from any of the main villages she was not worried about having to wear any local clothing. Her almost suit like khakis and black bdus would be fine. Looking around she spotted several spec ops meatheads and sighed. Order blind male chauvinistic walking egos. Rolling her eyes as the other agent in the camp walked over trying to get to her before the inbound spec ops commanding officer.

Excuse me miss...

She dismissed the condescending tone to his voice.

This is a restricted area you have to leave.

Actually no.. I don't I am Agent Stephen's replacement. You know the late linguistics specialist who led the interrogations.

She did not flinch she did not back down as she stood there staring at this clearly pissed off bird colonel. The only other agent on base ran up.

Sorry I am late to this little meeting. She is actually 100x more fluent than Stephen's and answers directly to the deputy director. Not any of us. Is that clear Adam?

Adam she made a mental note of his first name suspecting it would come in handy.

Yeah... just know this Maam... none of us are here to babysit some agency skirt...

Without a word she simply smiled and drew a side arm shooting an old board leaning up against one of the old stone ruins hitting it dead center.

Does that comfort your mind that I don't need you or any of your people watching over me or getting underfoot at all... Adam?

The other agent looked first to her and said have fun then looked to Adam and said good luck. Stifling a chuckle as he returned stateside with the body other predecessor.

Now that this little show is done kindly direct me to the prisoner who I will be interrogating. I will also require religious articles brought for him to use... religious texts prayer rug... Now

Adam snarled

Now why do you want him to have that? We are not running a service for him.

Just get it. I have my reasons and my.methods for getting answers for you will not be questioned.

With that she walked away to find the prisoner. Looking at her watch as she entered the room.

I will not take up much of your time I know that it is getting close to your prayer time. I will be replacing the previous agent and assure you I handle things much differently than those here before.

The first visit was her getting to know the prisoner and seeing how much work he would take to open up to a woman. As she left she pointed to one of the walls of his cell telling him that the direction he required for prayer was that way. As she moved to the door Adam had sent another soldier to the door to deliver what she asked for. Turning she handed it to him as he said something that brought a smile to her face and revealed that she had won over the "right" in his culture to speak to him. All he said was...

Great honor comes from your father through you.thank you.

She nodded and left the room with a smile. Knowing getting answers from him would be easier than acceptance from these soldiers. She also knew she was not here to make friends just get answers and pass along Intel to the proper locations and people then back to DC

Shane's backstory

Shane grew up in a small town in Texas. The kind of small town where the only way out was a football scholarship or the military. Shane joined the army after graduating highschool, and then performing well in the service he became a member of the special forces. He participated in a few missions but in doing so gained an increasing sense of disillusionment with his commanding officers and political overlords constantly throwing them into impossible situations and constantly second guessing them when they somehow magically survived.

One mission his unit was working in conjunction with the spooks in the CIA. There he met Lore for the first time. Brilliant translator, excellent shot, rocket hot body, and with a personality as grating as sandpaper. (Or so he thought at the time)

Anyway his disillusionment with his superiors grew and eventually he said the wrong thing to a Colonel and was dishonorably discharged. That was when Pop came to him offering him a position in his crew using his skills as a soldier working as a freelance mercenary, and he's been a part of Pop's crew ever since.

Lorenza and pop talk past, solo assignments and the team. (More backstory scene)

She sat there watching the water. Teams get you killed or turn on you that was her main take away from her time in the field with the agency but here she was at Pop's barge recruited by one of the few living people with any ties to her agency days that she trusted. He had assembled a team and that had deceptively included her partly. Pop knew better than to demand her give up her solo, lonewolf says not that Lane would have let him without a fight. She was damn good at what she did. Sure she had dealt with some close calls but she was still alive two years into going solo officially.

I know you don't trust teams but I do know you trust me Wolfsong.

He had intentionally used her former code name to get her undivided attention and that anger he knew was there that she kept bottled up.

Don't you ever say that name again old man.

She growled looking over at him.

You want me to even remotely be a part of this team that name is dead.

He just smiled

Always preferred Tigress for you anyway so did Lane. Seemed more fitting for reporting back and forth when you went off the res on an assignment.

She smirked as well.

Now to tell you about the team before you all go bouncing around Cambodia. You will be working more directly with locals with one of the boys Shane. He is ex spec ops. Before you say it I know you did not like dealing with them when you were agency but from what I have heard that Col who was such an ass to you on that assignment is who he took out. So common bond of hate for an idiot.

Your combat medic is ex Royal Marine combat medic sniper with the bedside manner of a pissed off gorilla.

Demolitions former explosives expert for Argentine military

And your pilot best living combat pilot I know.

She just nodded listening.

Only difference between you and the team is they all beat the hell out of who caused them to leave you however just had to send every member of the agency that lovely go to hell letter that damn near shut down the entire system.

They both laughed as he motioned to the door.

Let go grab a beer and get all the hellos out of the way to talk Cambodia.

Walking in she caught a beer that she did not realize was being tossed to pop out of habit till a second one was tossed that he caught.

Relax Lore... that's just the good Dr doling out mission briefing "meds"

You...

Lorenza's eyes locked on Shane which almost had her storming out right then and there till pop grabbed her arm.

Thought so... he was a dumbass back then Lorebut he has since wised up to Adam and that ilk.

Next step ideas

Jamison knew his job once they followed the minion Santos back to his bosses little compound... find Lore... kill anything that got in his way... if he could not just incapacitate it or manipulate its path to the rest of the team.

Scott would keep Shane focused and Berto would blast this place to kingdom come. Back the the plane and back to base making sure Lore was with them so pop could have a talk with her. The big man refused to hold any thought of her being dead. He knew his sister in arms well enough to know she was too mean to kill just by shooting her. So off the down the corridor he went hunting long black hair and black facial hair helped mask him in the poorly lit run down side of the bunker he chose to investigate first while the others went down the other hall.

Jamison's roar rattled the building. Scott had seconds to distract Shane. Shit

Luckily turning the corner they came face to face with a target for Shane. Zain trying to move away from the area Jamison went.

Shane there let's get him alive...

For now he thought.

Strikeback

A show very similar in tone to our story about the adventures of a counterintelligence unit in the war on terrorism. Also it features one of the best songs from my favorite band: Short Change Hero by The Heavy. The show and the song gives me strong vibes for this thread.

Nice. I like that. I also sorta find The Unit a good tv inspiration for ideas.

Same with Seal Team on CBS as well. I think David Boreanaz is a very underrated actor.

Yep so let me guess working in a post for this one?

Jamison wa doing his best to keep her sedated on the flight home but he also knew Shane would be close and her hearing him could help too. Scott glanced back watching them nodding to Jamison to give them a few minutes. Lore was out for the most part and Shane was watching over her.

She'll be fine lad...

Jamison spoke up as he moved to sit down across from them.

She's not going anywhere. We still want answers and she is too strong to die from the likes of Zain.
