OK, this is for the guys, well maybe some ladies???

I have a GF who owns a lingerie store and is a professional bra fitter. She is actually pretty awesome physically herself being a 32H - and as she did find problems herself getting lingerie she actually eventually became part of that industry. I run her commercial website, and over the years its fair to say i have picked up a lot of her skills and product knowledge.

I actually wrote a guide for guys - how to buy your GF lingerie - figuring out sizes and getting it right first time. Heres a shareable read only link to my article.

Let me know what you think of it?

I also know where to buy great lingerie with reproducible sizing, for girls with bigger girls of all sizes. Incidentally the powerhouses of these is the UK and Poland, manufacturing may be done in china, but not the design. A few names to add a dot com to - Curvy Kate [featuring scantilly] , Playful Promises, Panache, Sculptresse, Cloe, or if you are more up-market avocouture, bordelle, Katherine Hamilton, Edgeobeyond and of course there are others.

A bit about sizes for guys - Bras are measured in band [around the chest below the boobs] and cup sizes [how big are the boobs, so in UK sizes a 36D is a lady whose chest is probably about 35 inches round, with boobs of a size.

BUT

There are UK, US, EU, French and other measuring systems. The web has lots of conversion charts/. Inches or CMs? BUT this is the bit that confuses many, as the band grows the cup grows even if it is the same size ! SO a 34D cup is an inch smaller than a 36D, and this is progressive. Now for the next part, you have to agree to eat the screen. Sister sizing. As i said the cup grows as the band grows, but predictably, So if your partner is a 34F, she can probably also use one of the 2 sister sizes of 34F, these have the same cup sizes but differing bands. a 32G and a 34F and a 36E are these particular sizes.

My guide will give guys tips/guidance on the whole subject, hope it helps, seriously, any questions feel free to ask or PM if you need privacy.

If your shop can really do this, it would be a boon to all womankind.

But thing like bra sizes are a rat's next. I have in front of me two bras which are ostensibly the same size (band and cup size). One fits, but the other doesn't. Why? Because breasts don't come in standard shapes. And since women's breasts are more often than not asymmetrical, it's a good bet that if one boob is comfortable, the other one isn't.

Dress sizes are similarly misleading... one dressmaker's size 5 is another's size 6. I've longed for a system where a woman can buy clothes the way men apparently do... pants with waist and inseam, shirts with chest, sleeve, and collar sizes. Easy peasy. But I have to try on everything I buy, and hope that what I like is in a size they stock.

When the internet became a big market for shopping, I bought some clothes there at first, but had to send a lot of it back. I've also had the pleasure of buying a set of panties from a manufacturer in a size that fit me perfectly. But when I re-ordered, using the same size and stock numbers, the panties I got didn't fit. It turned out that they were from a different supplier...

Nothings perfect, but some suppliers are better than others. If you know your dimensions, the better suppliers should consistently fit.

Sure for guys it might be easier, ive never eve had an issue with ralph lauren or la coste but thats maybe too high end?

Honestly curvy kate is 100% safe.

I think the best way to buy intimates for your SO is to take them to the store, pick out things you both like and have her/him try them on and model for you.

Anne and I did this on one of our first dates. Iirc I bought her a bustier, a very sexy top that had snaps at the crotch and a couple of bra and panty sets.

She bought me a very nice PJ set, she'd wear the top and I got the bottoms.

Believe me this is a win win.

I am far too drunk right now to pay too much attention, so forgive me that and I am sure what you have written is great, but I just want to say that playful promises is my absolute favourite online lingerie store ❤️🙌 the sizing and quality of items is amazing and I always feel so beautiful in their pieces 🔥

There is only one way to get a bra that fits a woman without her being there, which is to steal her favourite bra and take it to a shop - even the same good quality brand will fit differently if you go for a different style!

For small breasts you could probably get away with it, but much as I love Curvy Kate or Triumph, a balconette vs a plunge bra are very unlikely to both look good if they are say 36H, and sister sizes are more "the sizes to try in-store if the first doesn't fit right" rather than sizes you could treat as the same.

When your lady acquires a new bra, if it looks great or she says how great it is after a few wears, write down the brand and model number, as well as the size, off the label before it's washed so much that the label print fades to unreadable. I should remember to do this myself!

This makes me so mad. I was really happy with a Sloggi range of underwear and their sports bra was perfect. Then they switched supplier and sizes were off, the colours faded and the elastic gave up. Pissed.

This is funny timing in a way. I am writing a story about a submissive male who is forced to buy stockings, a garter belt, panties and a bra for himself since he is being forced to show up for a second session with his pelvic floor specialist (who’s a doninatrix), and the embarrassment he feels when purchasing them at a Victoria’s Secret. (He is further humiliated by the store clerk helping him ‘buy then for his “girlfriend.”’)

If only that character had such a handy guide!

I love this scenerio! Ive gone and picked out lingerie for my Dom, hoping he would be aroused from what i picked out. The avatar pic is a photo of the package cover. He loved it. I was hard as a rock picking it out.

Very hot! Part of the story may be just a tiny little bit autobiographical! 😇

I don’t know if we’re allowed to “advertise” our stories here, so I will, DM it to you.

My wife helped me determine my size as XXL and to order bras with her size in an A Cup. Perfect fit.

Top tip from a guy who's been around a long time:

Don't buy her lingerie. Buy her something she wants, then go lingerie shopping together.

If you aren't careful the inherent message behind gifts of lingerie is 'there's something missing, i need you to dress like a whore'.

Have to agree with you on this one. She has to like it and think she’s gonna be sexy in it or it’s just time and money wasted. I buy her the nice silk pajamas and than we go shopping together for that something special.

Not sure how it is all over the world but a guy having to go out in public to buy panties or lingerie for themselves isn’t that hard. Don’t act like a creep and you will get the same treatment from the staff it’s all about commission. Often joke with staff too at stores like Victoria Secret. Even had a sales girl say she could do a bra fitting. All in good fun everyone’s usually adults about it. It’s usually the teen to twenty something shoppers that make a fuss if anything. Bottom line is the staff knows I have money and they want it
