Professor Wilder walked slowly across the campus quad. He had been a professional stage actor in his youth and lately had been feeling rather over the hill as it were. There was a time when he was the new hot young professor on campus, but now perhaps those days were behind him. He entered the fine arts building where he had been teaching theatre appreciation and technique for several years. His classes this time of year were always full of eager bright eyed and sometimes talented actors and actresses, looking for their own inspiration or big break. He walked across the empty stage and remembered what it had felt like to perform for a full house. The small practice theater was beautiful and intimate. He awaited the arrival of his students on the first day of summer term to see who would actually show up. The semester before there had been quite a few beautiful and inspired students to take his class. Sometimes they were young and perky dreamers with low cut tops and playful panties on display when sat purposefully in the front row. It wouldn't get them an A but the gesture was always appreciated. Sometimes there were non traditional students who were somewhat older and more experienced. they walked with a kind of real world swagger in their tight turtlenecks and stretchy yoga pants, doing the most attention seeking physical warm ups to show their flexibility. They had been to New York or LA to try and live out their dreams only to have them crushed before returning here for one more shot at finding true inspiration. In a way they felt like these classes were beneath them, but they had experience of how it was really like in "The Biz", and weren't afraid to suck and fuck their way to the top if they had to. The theater attracted all types...Women, men, those that were not bound by monikers and expectations... All with pure potential and it was his job to find a way to unlock that potential no matter how deep he had to get them to push to find that sweet spot where fiction becomes reality, and dreams become tangible. Almost 9:00. Wilder raised the house lights and awaited their arrival...
