Favorite Actors from Movies and TV

Do you have any actors or actresses who‘s work you really admire?

And I am hoping to stick to only their acting skills, I don’t want to hear about anyone’s politics or anything else…

Lets just talk excellent actors, and maybe mention some roles they did that impressed you.


I thought of this because of John Vernon. A character actor who I really admire and enjoy his work.


He did some comedies like “Animal House“ and “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka”, and tons of dramas like Dirty Harry, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Topaz… and tons and tons of TV appearances. An amazing talent.

Another prolific character actor I love seeing. He also did comedy and dramas equally well…

Jack Elam


He did comedies loke Cannonball Run, Support Your Local Sheriff and Support Your Local Gunfighter.
But did a ton of dramas like Once Upon A Time In the West, Rio Lobo and Night Passage. And his list of TV appearances is huge. So good!

Mickey Rourke...particularly 80's Mickey Rourke. He a Terrific streak during that time. This was before he damaged his face with (Stupid) boxing and career sometime in the late 90's (I believe.)

Christina Applegate. I think her skills playing a dumb blond were overlooked. She had skills and i always admired her in other shows and movies she was in. Plus i had a serious crush on her.

Comedies like Ghost Busters and Galaxy Quest. Sci-Fi like Avatar and Alien… she has a huge list of amazing movies. I think that woman could do anything.

Another actress who I think can do anything. From Beetlejuice (for @PlanetaryNebula ) to A League of their Own, Thelma and Louise… or her astounding performance in The Long Kiss Goodnight. She is amazing!!!

I love her in everything I have seen her in… of course The Princess Bride comes to mind, but she has done a ton of stuff.

Where I think I first saw her, she played Ladka’s wife on Taxi and communicated with Andy Kaufman with a language he made up… convincingly! That was amazing to watch!

Absolutely! He is pretty unique since he had a long career playing super serious heavies in dramas, then a second much more lucrative career in silly comedies. But my favorite Leslie role? Forbidden Planet.
