Euphemism of the day - The flight was "interrupted" after the launch

I guess it's the reverse of this fallacy:
Pretty much.

Anecdotally, when the Soviets first cloned the B29 bomber, after one came down in their territory after being flak damaged over Japan, they replicated the shell holes in the fuselage, "just in case Stalin (or Beria) found out."

Same with their first bomb - Kurchatov knew he could improve on the stolen design, but Stalin and Beria didn't fully trust the scientists, so their first bomb replicated the Trinity shot almost completely.

Geography can have euphemisms too, and then be first euphemism can be replaced by yet another.. Blackwell's Island in the East River had so many prisons and asylums that the name became notorious. It was changed to Welfare Island. By the 1970's, "welfare" meant payments to poor people, not good health or whatever. It thus became Roosevelt Island to facilitate housing development That name should be safe for a while. I wonder what Riker's Island will become if the plan to remove its jails ever goes through.
