Shortest time might be when I got caught up in this rapture and wrote DE in just one month. But I can see a couple of months being decent time for something of about 500 pages.
Most of the time, the thing about it is gathering steam beforehand, getting the ideas to write on paper. I could see six months or even a year in between my writing times.
