Participating:

You do not have to participate in the immunity, and if you do, you don't have to accept the immunity. Pick a number between 1 and 49, then post your guess here. You can pick a number that someone else has picked, so don't worry if someone already has your number.

The number you choose will, by default, be added to the roll-over list and remain registered for you indefinitely or until you choose a different one. If you are missed by the moderator for some reason, your roll-over immunity is still qualified if you request it in an immunity thread (like this one), even in future immunity threads. You may change your roll-over at any time simply by posting a request for it. In order to make sure your roll-over applies despite moderator error, you must post the request for it in an official immunity thread.

Remember - You are responsible for your own immunities. You will not be notified that you have won and you must use your winning immunity in that week or lose it.

Winning An Immunity

If you've won an immunity, the first thing to do is make a post in this thread (and only this thread) that you've won an immunity and which category and cap level you will use it for. This is the only way you will earn the immunity. If you neglect to pick the cap level, it will be assumed you are referring to the lowest cap level available for the category you chose.

You have until 7:30 PM GMT on the following Wednesday to claim your immunity here. After that time, you have lost the immunity.

Do not edit the post after 7:30 PM GMT on Wednesday. If you do so, your immunity will be invalidated. This post is the only way we have to verify the immunity and the category and cap level you choose. Once an immunity is claimed, it cannot be erased and replaced with a submission.

An Immunity Rule Refresher:

Immunities are won based on the weekly Wednesday Lottery available here: http://lottery.merseyworld.com/

Entrants can select a single number between 1 and 49. The selected number must be posted by the entrant prior to 7:30 PM GMT on Wednesday for the number to be consider for that day's draw. That is 7:30 PM in London on Wednesday. For the timezone illiterate: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedform.html

Good luck

Hi. I will take my Immunity in Chain Stories please.

Now I have a question. My computer crashed a few weeks back and took a great deal of my data with it. Is there any way I can find out what stories I have submitted to the Survivor Contest so far this year?

Whatever help I can get is appreciated. Newer stuff I have, it is the older I am unsure of.

Your index will have everything you have posted to the site this year. Every entry includes a posting date and those posted in 2014 are eligible for the contest, assuming they meet the standards. Your scorecard includes everything you have submitted to the contest.

If by index you are referring to my story page, I understand and look at that frequently. However, not all the stories I submitted to LIT this year were submissions I made to the contest. So looking at my 2014 submissions may not lead to the answers I need.

My scorecard has not been updated for a bit (by me). I take full responsibility, but it has been a crazy year and a lot of things slipped by.

If you wrote some stories and they are not on your story page or index, you can't include them in the Survivor's Contest. I don't know how that could happen, unless you posted them elsewhere or they were rejected, but you definitely can't count anything that is not available to be read on Jan. 1.

No, you have misunderstood - ALL of my submissions are indeed on my story page. But not all of my submissions were entries into the contest. I have two pages, like most - the submissions page and the story page. I do not see a way to tell which stories were entries into the contest and which were just regular submissions.

Any story you wrote this year is elligile BrettJ <3

You didn't have to submit them in a special way :)

Hi ELLIE, nice to see you. Drop by the Bistro sometime.

As far as I understand it, you're supposed to specify if a story is an entry into the contest. I do that in the "notes" section each time. So if I submit a story in "Loving Wives" I put that into the notes. I have my more recent entries, just not the earlier ones, which were wiped out.

Now if I can just pick some at random, I will go over my 2014 entries and see what I can choose to fill in the blanks.

Brett - based on my understanding of the rules, you're welcome to do precisely that. As long as the story was posted in 2014, it counts towards Survivor. So, fill in the blanks on that score card and smile away.

Anything posted in 2014, as long as it meets the criteria, can be listed in your scorecard. Just look at your index page, which you apparently call your story page, for anything with a posting date of 2014. An entry there will also include the category. Transcribe the 2014 entries to your scorecard and add up the total scores.

Cool. Thanks for the help everyone!

I have posted the next to last immunities. The deadline for claiming one is the usual 1:30 PM PST on Wednesday, Dec. 31. For immunities won on the last drawing, which will be December 31, they must be claimed that afternoon or the next Day, Jan. 1, 2015, which is also the deadline for posting stories and poems.

7 immunities since July. Why can't I have that luck for the lottery?

I'm going to decline this last one. I can either write one more story to get 20 categories or I can use the immunity and have to write two more to validate it. I'm no mathematician, but it seems to me that I should pass.

Thanks for the help everyone. I have now updated my Scorecard.

Wow. Bit of a change!

I know I will get whupped by someone, but I had no idea I had written so much. Quite pleased with myself - and I am not done yet!

Thanks again

My Scorecard is now up to date (I have to wait until my final piece is approved to add the remaining score). I believe the contest is now done, am I correct?

Best of luck to all. I would have liked to have done more, but fate had other plans for me this year. I will miss the contests, it challenged me as an author.

Stories and poems can still be posted through Midnight, tonight, EST.

Thanks for letting me know that. I can likely get at least another piece done by then. I assume you meant submitted though? I have no control over when pieces are posted, that's up to the folks at LIT.

Appreciate the update.

According to the rules, stories or poems must have posting dates of 1/1/2015 or earlier to qualify. However, since authors or poets do not determine when something will post, the submission date has been used in the past.
