Cuck Brainstorm

The cuckolding I like features women who re-configure or re-mold their world/the world in conformity with their will. What some may refer to as manipulative behavior by a female sociopath, I would instead characterize as intelligent willful behavior by an intelligent willful married woman, which is designed to re-order the world in a way which suits her and her needs. It is controlling the world and others for reasons of self-interest – rational or not.
At one end there is femdom and the fetish stuff (sph, chastity, humiliation and the like) Cuckolding in those relations is just a tool to further the ends.
What you both describe in these places falls under what I call the erotic form of Masochism.

There is a strong population of readers, and authors, on LIT, that go down this path. It also seems a necessary fixture on the cuckquean stories, where the wife is humiliated and degraded as a lesser woman by her husband and his lover, and she gets off on it.

I think this is an interesting topic and suitable for this forum as it's not about a specific story idea rather about the possible elements that go into a cuck story. I think there's a spectrum across a number of different aspects. I think...

1) How much he wants the cuckolding to happen - from him being the initiator to it being grounds for instant divorce (or worse in those LW stories)
2) How much she wants the cuckolding to happen - again from her only doing it to please him, to it being an insatiable need (or something more calculated)
3) What he knows about cuckolding - from him arranging everything, chosing the bull and being present the whole time, to the shocking results of a paternaty test twenty years later.
4) How much running the bull is doing - (notes 'The Running of the Bulls' down in my story title list) - is she caving to his serious and smooth attention or is he just a nameless cock plucked from a dating website.
5) How far down the road the cuckolding is - is it the first time she's ever cheated or it just another Tuesday?
6) The difference between the cuck and the bull - is it about how much fitter/attractive/endowed/manly the bull is verses how weedy the cuck is or is it just about trying something new.
7) The 'hotness' of the wife - is it no surprise that everyone want the super hot pornstareque newly wed, or is part of the appeal for her realizing that other men still find her attractive despite X years of marriage and Y children and so on...
8) How much angst there is - based on the above points - some stories are all about the angst, some are all about how much fun it is.
9) What happens if people find out? Is secrecy an issue or plot point. Are lives and jobs at stake? What will the children think?
10) And of course, and inevitably, the result of the cuckolding - whether BTB or RAAC

There's probably more, but that's all I've got for now.

Impressive list. You really broke it down and opened it up to broad ideas.

It just occurred to me. What a great name for a 1950s B-movie sci-fi hero.

Has anyone got a pair of fishing waders for a short person? It's getting mighty deep in here.

What I'm reading here isn't about "cuckold", but IMO a bunch of fetishes others ASSume with their unique definitions.

Those who "can't comprehend ever allowing..." are perhaps not listening or listening in their own unique language with a different dictionary defining their words. And that's a problem we see a lot in today's societies: people failing to communicate.

To some, a cuckold is a man whose wife even THOUGHT of admiring some other guy and fantasized about having sex with him. The husband's a cuckold because his wife was mentally cheating.

To others (I'm reading here), cuckold OBVIOUSLY means the husband is humiliated and he must enjoy that humiliation.

Lack of consistent definitions and thus a failure (inability) to communicate. (And this coming from "authors"?)

Now you can throw out links to all kinds of populist web site definitions (unauthoritative). Or you might just use a long-term standard such as Merriam-Webster dictionary:

Cuckold: a man whose wife is unfaithful.
Unfaithful: not faithful to marriage vows, OR not adhering to vows, allegiance, or duty : DISLOYAL
Disloyal: showing an absence of allegiance, devotion, obligation, faith, or support

Now if you're into that religious marriage vow crap and unilaterally ASSuming all marriage vows are the same, there's just no talking to you. For decades, people have been making their own vows, and dropping some of the old standards which included that a wife must OBEY. So, I personally ignore those who start with "VIOLATED HER MARRIAGE VOWS", because they're ignorant and ASSuming everyone must think as they do. (That's how I can ignore those haters in the LW audience: They're ignorant.)

Based on those Webster definitions (taken down that rabbit hole of definitions), a cuckold is "a man whose wife is showing an absence of allegiance, devotion, obligation, faith, or support".

I'd stand by this as the definition, because it allows a couple to recognize that they can change over time. It's not about sex. It doesn't lock them into an unbreakable contract solely based on one word spoken during a ceremony decades ago, which they may have been pressured into reciting by family traditions. And it allows for a man to be a cuckold, even if his wife never has sex with another man! The husband can be a cuckold if his wife is disparaging him in public to others, showing her lack of emotional support or allegiance to him.

"Yeah, he's my cuckold, and I'd divorce him if I had any better options." (And I'd bet there are far more of those cuckolds in the world than there are wives cheating with just extramarital sex.)

I only add the "cuckold" tag to my stories, because those ignorant LW readers insist on it.

I have one story where a guy literally gets off on catching his wife in the act of cheating on him, then when he's done, his shame fuels violent aggression aimed at the guy she's cheating with. I assume that fits the definition of "cuck", but now I'm not sure.

What you miss is that a wife can cuckold her husband not only while showing the utmost faith and loyalty to him, but AS AN ACT of that faith and loyalty.

Based on the definition I posted above, if she cheated without his consent, even though he might have gotten off on seeing her, she showed that absence of allegiance, devotion, obligation, faith, or support. So, yeah, she cucked him.

Where I disagree with many others here is with swinger and consensual sharing, such as a stag/vixen relationship. The wife in those cases is NOT showing lack of devotion. She may be doing it BECAUSE she's devoted to her husband and supporting his needs.

...a wife can cuckold her husband ... AS AN ACT of that faith and loyalty.
And that's where I disagree.

She's not cuckolding her husband merely by having sex with another guy. He's a cuckold if she intended to hide it from him and is showing her a lack of allegiance or devotion to him by doing so. She cheats by not trusting his reaction or knowing he would disapprove of it. She's showing she has no obligation to consult her husband in such a situation. So, he's a cuck by HER unilateral choice.

In the words of the Pink Orchid crowd, she stole HIS agency, with her choice that now defines him in a disparaging way.

Your definition (like all definitions) is arbitrary. People use the word to mean “husband of wife who has sex with other guys” regardless of the reasoning and circumstances. The way people actually use the word captures more of reality than an arbitrary definition.

Arbitrary???

LOL.

The way you and others arbitrarily redefine words to your personal liking IS arbitrary. WHERE in the Fing world do you come to be a language expert to say "From now and ever after, this word now means THAT."

In my world, the language is English, and I think most language experts might agree that a commonly accepted dictionary decides what the words mean so that people can communicate, not some populist web site which can change as we speak.

Just try arguing in court to a judge that the cop didn't catch you speeding, because YOUR definition of speeding is different. "But everyone KNOWS that it's not really speeding unless it more than ten miles over the limit! I was only doing nine over the limit!"

LOL. The JUDGE would slam this gavel, saying "Guilty! Pay the fine!"
