Bitching about Boston

3 firetrucks. Four ambulances. Mass General has 2 people injured. Happened near the grandstand.
Injured in the tents meant for runners. Storefronts were blown out.

The Red Line T catches on fire, on a regular basis. It very well could have been the Green Line T that exploded and caught fire.

These passenger trains run underground directly under the busiest parts of Boston and Cambridge.

Mass Ave to Arlington Street are blocked off. The marathon is stopped. 671 Boylston Street across from the Boston Library was where
initial explosion happened.

Where were all the power failures located, this Winter. Copley Square. What happened to the Boston Marathon, today ?

An enormous explosion. At the finish line of the Boston Marathon in Copley Square. The problem with the power plants was not fixed.

Thank you so very much, power company executives. Did you get a great big bonus for being cheap and saving money for your corporation ?

gah *disgusted* What does the 1% care, if some runners and spectators get injured ? Manhole covers launched in the air by underground explosions?

It was a warning, and no one has taken it seriously. Repeated instances, going back ten years.
I haven't seen any evidence that those might have been transformer explosions. What have you heard?

Ok They dumped the cat, out of the bag,. The FBI was sent for. They will investigate.

Fire at JFK Library, that started shortly after the explosions at Copley Square.

Second explosion, was when they did a controlled explosion of suspicious packages that were leaning on a store front ?

Maybe. No confirmation. Blood on the sidewalks. people did get seriously injured.
People that were fifty yards away from initial explosion.

Runners herded onto alternate route. Four patients confirmed as victims from explosion.

I am surprised that there has not been a power overload explosion.before today.

Everything about Boston's power supply is neglected and abused. Everything about the Boston transit system is old and fucked up.

The studies have been done. The papers have been handed in. Boston is in a double bind.

Keep growing, keep spending on the growth. Take care of the breakdowns as they come.

2 people dead 22 injured, so far.

Patients from the Boston Marathon explosion, sent to Brigham and Women's Hospital Visitors refused at door.

The hospital is on lockdown. Bomb found under Marathon grandstand?

Where did the Federal official say- "what else, could it be, but a bomb." ????

"It looked like a bomb."

Now, there is a count of two exploded bombs, and two un-exploded bombs ?

Green Line B and C service stopped.

I am still, holding my own personal opinion, that the bomb issue is not settled.

40 minutes ago, the bomb squad may have set off bomb found under the Marathon grand stand.
Afghan and Iraq vet, said the effects were just like those of an IED.

CBS reporter-, told of surveillance camera footage a man carrying backpacks in bomb area, just before explosions.

He placed them into trash cans. Have unexploded device, for evidence.

Gee! I guess they should have kept those bomb proof trash cans. Where did Boston put them, after they removed them ?

Walking back the news about the bomb found under the Marathon grandstand. People just up and ran when the explosion went off.

They left a mountain of items to be investigated when they ran. The security people washed the stuff down with water from firehoses.

Reporter Davis, has statements that conflict with official story.

Will we see any cell phone footage, that conflicts with the official story ?
Maybe not- Cell phone service was shut down,
so that there would not be new explosions, set off.

I usually love being around Copley Square on Marathon Day. The vibe is of a festival. Friends and family are there to support the runners.
There are groups withing the mass of runners, who are running for charities. It is unbelievably busy and crowded.

It is all very cheerful and friendly. A gigantic, citywide celebration of Spring.

The Copley Place Hotel has been evacuated. Is this a lockdown ? Have they closed the Copley Mall ? The Pru Mall ?

Pulling ball bearings out of injured runners and spectators at the hospitals. Shrapnel bombs.

Armed personnel carrier, with a SWAT team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Tougher than a Wells Fargo cash mover.

Dr. Ron Walls, of Brigham and Womens, gave a question and answer session.
A representative from Mass General was next, but the news cut her off.
So, I am not sure who got the patients with ball bearing injuries.
Just, that it was not the ones, at Brigham and Womens hospital.

The Copley Square T stop will remain closed tomorrow. There will be continuing an investigation in Copley Square.
Check at the MBTA site to see if Arlington T stop will be closed.

Video footage thanks to the Boston Globe newspaper. Thank goodness the budget has not been cut so badly that
we did not lose a witness.

Good Gravy. The MBTA has not done any emergency adjustments besides saying that the Copley T station will be closed.

Mayor Menino's site has a map of which streets will be closed off.

http://www.cityofboston.gov/news/Default.aspx?id=6079

A crime scene perimeter has been established in the Back Bay. Tomorrow, and likely remaining for several days, Boylston Street will be closed to traffic and pedestrians from Berkley Street to Massachusetts Avenue. All side streets along Boylston Street will also be closed from Huntington Avenue to Newbury Street. (See attached map) Buildings will be inaccessible while the crime scene is active. The city is working to provide shelter services to any displaced residents.

People returning to work tomorrow will notice an increased police presence in the City. They should not be alarmed by this presence of national guard and other armed officers at key points on the City including in an around the MBTA.

News conferences at this hour. Menino's office, and doctors report on who has been identified (bomb victims). A long list of Boston area hospitals.

Update from Tuft Medical Center

All doctors and personnel were prepared by drills, to deal with bomb victims situation

Triage

Suspicious package in emergency room! Interruption of process, responded to situation in orderly manner

A big fuck you to whoever planted the bombs- The victims who suffered the most, and survived are defiant

We will not lose our high spirits, and hope for the future

It is a mystery, why our three main local TV stations have their cameras trained on the Moakley Courthouse.

One van went in this morning, and the white vans have stayed parked around the courthouse all day.

May, of last year- they had a transformer fire. Bomb threat ?
