No, it means that Russia has used restraint, the invasion was localized to encompass those Russian-speaking provinces it presently occupies with no intention of moving further west. Recall that although he had larger reserves in the field, Putin initially attacked with a force of 90,000 men, far too small of a force to have any larger designs on western Ukraine. I don't support what has been done but it is what it is and not for the first time in the history of the world.

Ukraine is not going to prevail against Russia in this campaign. The bottom line reason is that Russia will use nuclear weapons to keep NATO out of Ukraine and away from its southern border. They have said so. Recall the Monroe Doctrine and how we kicked the French out of Mexico. Nobody in Europe or outside the Biden administration will support a nuclear war with Russia, or even a conventional war that would put our homeland infrastructure at risk. That is why the goals of the Biden administration cannot be realized. As bad as it is for the Ukrainians, it is bad. The eastern part of the country has been destroyed, and the most valuable real estate in Ukraine is in the hands of the Russians. Both sides have lost hundreds of thousands of casualties, huge numbers for both sides but worse for Ukraine because their population is four times smaller than Russia's. The destruction in Ukraine is on WWI levels, their mass graves are large enough to be seen and photographed from space. The only answer to this war is negotiation. At this point, and sadly so, it appears the Russians are going to be in a position to dictate the conditions on the ground.

Why weren't you complaining about this before. In 2020 the US donated 70.3 Billion to foreign aid, yet you never mentioned it. Perhaps you didn't know?

The US military budget was 816.7 Billion in 2023, most of the donated 75 Billion came from that pot of money.

Why isn't journalists pestering them over where the money's coming from as much as they did Bernie or Elizabeth Warren?

On the military side the US has donated 75 billion, the EU has donated 93 Billion. On the Humanitarian side German has donated the most, followed by the US.

If you wish to claim freedom, but are not willing to either pay or fight for it, then what do you say to those children in Ukraine who's parents were raped and killed. Or to the parent(s) who's children were killed by the invaders? Not to mention the homes and lives destroyed?

We have domestic funding for domestic issues. We have defense and foreign aid spending for defense and foreign aid issues.

You can't actually use defense spending for Medicare for all... Congress would need to change their budget.

The portion of the defense budget on Ukraine is minor comparatively. We have basically been giving them our old weapons and making new ones for our armies, which is a win win for updating stuff.
