The story is futuristic where the island is used as an outpost with a Star Trek - esque observation platform cloaked from normal view (episode: Who Watches The Watchers)

The girls are members of the crew and the males are from the somewhat primitive planet. The water isn't drugged exactly, but has more of a natural aphrodisiac mineral. The natives of the planet have never been aware of the island and are subject to the effects while the crew members have taken an antidote.
