And undoubtedly there are people our there who think anyone who has a problem with that is a communist. *sigh* It's amazing how gullible some people can be even when it's their own well-being at stake.

I have been told in no uncertain terms that not a single business in America ever pays taxes.

When Ingmar Bergman was accused of tax evasion it damaged his reputation and he became seriously depressed. In Sweden tax evasion is viewed as a serious offense. Later on the charges were dropped.

In the United States rich people who get away with tax evasion become cultural heroes. People think, "Good for him. I wish I could get away without paying taxes."

They do not think that when others pay nothing, they pay more.

The fact that Trump has not released his tax returns means nothing to his supporters. If he has found a legal tax dodge that should be illegal, they respect him for his cunning.

Jane.

If the proletariat vote for the guy pissing down their back; but they say it's raining; is it my fault? Their fault? Or Trump's?

But seriously. I'm not sure if you're applauding Amazon, or calling them the leaches that they are? (Whoops did I give away my political leaning???)

The bigger question is how are we going to change the system? Viva la revolution!

Over here we have things called 'double dutch sandwich'

(I forget the others but there are quite a few)

They are all legal.

You take one company 'a' (Amazon/google/Facebook/the Olympics/Husain Bolt ... It doesn't really matter who) you make up another company 'b' (Amazon inc/alphabet/Zukerberg is a cock/t' Olympics/ Husain Bolt junior... Again it doesn't really matter) you move all your ponys over their.... Job done - all of a sudden, the first company has no Money so pays no tax.

My point. Google the Duke of Westminster!

P.s. a pony is a unit of money.

Except for the small business owner every Liberal in America wants to sue. Ask me how I know. Go ahead. Axed TontoedRanger.:)

He boasted about it during the campaign. He said that anyone who paid taxes was a chump. And he was elected anyway.

TV runs adds of people lamenting that the IRS is after them for not paying their taxes and how the company can help them with that. And yet that seems to go down all right with those of us who do pay our taxes and also carry the deadbeats.

Or possibly because of that. Remember, a lot of the deplorable are convinced they're just one lucky break away from being just as rich as Trump, and they don't plan on paying their taxes either when that happens. Someone from Appalachia wrote in the New York Times, what we need to understand about Trump's diehard supporters is, they love him because he acts like they would act if they had money.

The double joke on them is that he probably doesn't have the money--he's leveraged to below the "has assets" line and must be the puppet on Putin's stick out where anyone with a brain can see that he's owned.

Not True!!!

Employees of Amazon pay millions in state, federal and social security taxes
Amazon pays these taxes directly to the government
So are you saying that this money doesn't count

Where I live libs go WAY WAY out of their way to support small businesses. Well "small" as they percieve there really isn't a solid definition of what that term means.

Come back when you've read the OP.

This has been going on since at least the Bush era, every year right around now we start hearing about the long list of major corporations that pay nothing or in some cases get paid, and that's before we factor in what they benefit from in food stamps and other assistance for their workers. That's just how it is and will be for the foreseeable future.

It certainly will be until a plurality of voters get it through their heads that progressive taxation is not socialism, and that cutting taxes on the rich won't lead to benefits for anyone but the rich.
