Storylines in the world of "The player"

I am just wondering what storylines people see in the world of "the player." In case anyone doesn't know in the original tv series it's about a cabal of richer than h*ll criminals betting on whether or not a single man can stop a crime. Personally i thought it was a kind of cool concept that got cut down in its prime because of ratings.
