From a seed to a tree

Tristesse has proposed recently an exercise in reduction. Let's go in the other direction too. Start with a short poem (up to 4 lines, ok up to 6 lines), treat it as a seed, and grow your own tree. Around 1990-1991, a wonderful poet Karl P. Henning started with a 4-line poem by me, and he ended up in ... well, you may see it here KPH 1991-05-27 (wh, 1991-05). (BTW, can you find the original post by KPH?).

Needless to say, you may select any poem by any author (it's more fun if you choose one not by yourself ). And if you don't feel like searching for one I have a bunch of them .
