An 60-something armed man who attacked an immigration detention centre in the US city of Tacoma died after police officers opened fire, authorities say.

Police arrived at the Northwest Detention Center early on Saturday after an employee reported that a man, armed with a rifle, was throwing "incendiary devices" at the facility.

The man's identity remains unknown.

The shooting in Washington state came a day before a nationwide deportation operation is due to begin.

ICE is Trump’s main instrument for the dirty work of trying to make America whiter again, without regard for family values, due process, human rights or even plain human decency. The agency has been a problem for decades, but American citizens often ignore it, content in the belief that their citizenship will prevent them from ICE, deportation, detention without representation and all those horrific stories written about other people.

ICE cannot be allowed to function as it is, and it certainly should not be given more power. People will be ousted from the country with no recourse and no due process. And ICE is often wrong.

Davino Watson is a U.S. citizen who was 23 years old when ICE held him for more than three years. A New Yorker, he was eventually dropped off in Alabama with no explanation and no money.

The tour gave journalists covering the vice president a rare glimpse inside a Border Patrol station near McAllen, Tex., where they observed nearly 400 men crammed inside a cage with no space to lie down and no mats or pillows, according to pool reports.

Before members of the news media were ushered out of the facility, some of the detainees shouted that they had been there for more than 40 days, were hungry and could not brush their teeth. One pool reporter described the stench as “horrendous” — some of the agents wore face masks — and said it was sweltering inside the detention center.

That very same day, Pence declared that "what we saw today was a facility that is providing care that every American would be proud of.”

Under 8 U.S. code 1229 voluntary departure (a) certain conditions (1) in general; "The attorney General may permit" AN ALIEN voluntary departure of the U.S. in lieu of being subjected to proceedings. That means they can leave, they pay their way. They don't like it, leave. It's not the american taxpayer's responsibility to appease them or pay for there way back home. If you're dissatisfied, request voluntary departure.

The law as written keeps every illegal alien on American soil for twelve months, or however long it takes to process them. If you want to send them on their way sooner, change the laws.

I wish to defend the policies of the Democratic party. They say there should be open borders. I agree. We, the U. S. should not have to respect borders or governments or customs that are not are own.
