Ron Anderson and John Grendel were friends before even kindergarten in their lives. They raised a lot of hell not only in high school but prior to that. You would have thought that going into the Army and becoming Rangers for a 6 year military stint would have calmed the down.
For Ron it did. He went into real estate and became broker making very good money with not too many vices other than a insatiable sexual appetite. John went the route of using his training in the military to become a firefighter. After 4 years Ron was a broker and John a lieutenant in his fire department and married for two years. On the surface you would guess John had his act together more than Ron, but John was an alcoholic and barely was in the good graces of keeping his job. He made LT based on some favors Ron pulled in to help him. Sober John is a great firefighter and paramedic. That is staying sober during his 48 hour shift each week. He also had a gambling problem. Ron and John both liked the casino but John wasn’t as successful at blackjack or any other card game as Ron. John didn’t have the common sense to walk away either.
John’s wife has gone to Ron three times already in two years for a handout financially. Prior to the two years, John lived with Ron and obviously Ron let him slide on rent. Twice Ron has paid the mortgage and one time with that he gave her an extra $250. The third she went to him, he gave her $500 for other bills. So, 2 mortgage payments and $750 for other bills.
Ron came over for supper and had a couple of beers while John got shitfaced and passed out as usual. Ron helped drag him to the bedroom. Before he was to leave John’s wife wanted to talk to him.
“Whats wrong? You look like something is really really wrong.” He says as he turns around and sits down with her on the couch just inches away from her.
“Money…again?” he asks as he looks into her eyes.
