this total abstinence bullshit is really fucking with my cooking mojo. i've been burning everything, my timing is off. i can usually taste the food in my mind's mouth before i even put the ingredients together but now i've got nothing.

i'm going to have to resort to tv dinners if this keeps up.

Incontrovertible proof that food and sex are intimately linked.

I'm hoping that you are off the orgasm wagon soon, A, for the sake of your taste buds (along with various other buds).

If ever there were a valid reason for such behavior, you have one. Ironclad.

Sending positive thoughts, my friend.

Sometimes it is more fun to be surprised by the cooking results rather than to be a kitchen knowitall.

i'll send you the burnt food.

I thought I'd share a couple of family recipes that are favorites at holidays.

My Mom's Pork Loin Roast

Ingredients:
1 Pork Loin Roast
1 jar BAMA (brand) applebutter
salt
red pepper (black pepper will do)

Directions:
LIGHTLY salt the roast

LIGHTLY pepper the roast

Spread the BAMA applebutter liberally over the whole roast..**** and all sides. None of the meat should be showing through.

Put about 1/2 cup water in the bottom of the covered roasting dish.

Cook at 300 degrees until done.

It makes for a very TASTY, tender and moist roast.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Cranberry-Pecan Pie

Ingredients:
1 cup light corn syrup
2/3 cup sugar
3 eggs, beaten
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup pecan halves
1/2 cup coarsely chopped dried cranberries
1 9" pie crust
whipped cream (opt.)

Directions:
In a mixing bowl, combine corn syrup, sugar, eggs, butter and vanilla; blend well. Stir in pecans and cranberries. Line a 9" pie plate with pie crust . Pour pecan mixture into the pie crust. Bake in 350 degree preheated oven for 45-50 minutes.

Number Of Servings:6-8

Your viddles are still the tastiest. Make some sugar free lime jello. Hard to burn and easy on the insides.
there's only so much sugar free lime jello a girl can handle.

Those both sound amazing! I love the sweet/spicy combination with pork, so I would opt for the red pepper. Yum.

There's always room for jello.

You should try this soup.

It's one of my finest creations, I think, and I'm thinking the veggies would be way fun to roast in your wood oven.

Red pepper is best on it! A man with good taste. ;) The reason for the recommendation of BAMA brand applebutter is we've tried other brands and none do the justice that BAMA brand does.

I love apples with pork so I'm definitely giving this a try.

Also, my ex sister-in-law always made cranberry and nut pie for the holidays and I loved it. Now I'll have the recipe! (Cause I wasn't about to ask her for it. ;) )

Yes, messing around with the wood oven in your current state would not be advisable.

Wood oven??

I thought that was a welding rod oven. Don't be getting any pizza sauce on the 7018.

I have spent the entire day cooking!!

It started with roasting pumpkin to puree to be made into pies later. Then I made a curried squash and chicken soup with butternut squash and spinach. Then I made pork chops with vermouth soaked mushroom and thyme sauce. Then I made wilted spinach with garlic. Then buttermilk garlic mashed potatoes. Then I roasted some acorn squash.
