The Isolated Politics Blurt Thread I: A New Beginning

Trump raises over $20 million in February with nearly $42 million in cash on hand, far behind Biden and Democrats

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign and joint fundraising committee together brought in $20.3 million in February and entered this month with a combined $41.9 million cash on hand, according to a Trump campaign official. But the amounts trail far behind the $53 million that President Joe Biden and Democrats previously announced raising in February and the massive $155 million in available cash that Biden’s team said it amassed with its affiliated committees.

The February numbers released by Trump indicate an increase from previous months. In January, the campaign alone brought in $8.8 million, federal records show, and combined with the joint fundraising committee, the campaign said it hauled in slightly less than $14 million that same month.

And while we're at it...

Trump leadership PAC’s soaring legal bills outstrip what it raised last month

Donald Trump’s leadership PAC spent more on legal expenses than it took in last month, a new filing shows – underscoring the steep financial toll of the myriad legal cases the former president faces. The Save America leadership political action committee – which Trump has used as a vehicle to help underwrite lawyers’ fees incurred by him and allies – spent nearly $5.6 million on legal bills in February, according to a Wednesday night filing with the Federal Election Commission.

Those expenses exceeded Save America’s total receipts, most of which came in the form of a $5 million refund that the PAC received from a Trump-aligned super PAC, MAGA Inc. In all, Save America has clawed back more than $52 million from the super PAC, diverting resources from an account intended to support Trump’s presidential bid to one that pays his legal bills.

I’m not saying that bad juju or death will befall black trump supporters, but it may be time for my friends on the right who are always in need of a black person as convenient cover for racist politics or to put a spec of color in a lily white photo op to bubble wrap Tim Scott or request he be placed on the endangered species list for protection.

Tennessee attempting to ban "chemtrails", based on ignorance and conspiracy theories.
so, like, what happens if they pass this bill but people get all upset when they find they're still spotting actual contrails? *sigh*

srsly, education is one of the biggest challenges in America... so many ignorance-based superstitions, notions and fears would be dispelled with a simple understanding of scientific facts. :(

I assumed this was one of those bills that would never see the light of day, but the Tennessee senate already passed it! 😄

Unlike Butters, I don’t think this is an education problem. I think it’s one more sign of the epidemic of delusional paranoia that is in control of the Republican Party at every level. It’s amazing that millions have developed serious mental illnesses by obsessively watching right wing propaganda channels.

propaganda thrives in a vacuum of ignorance...

educate people, and they're less likely to get the wool pulled over their eyes :(
there will always be some, though

Jet travel is one of the more severe sources of pollution. Banning jet travel would be a reasonable act for the environment.

Just witnessed a hilarious exchange in Petco...

30ish incel MAGAt walks in with his mother wearing his "UltraMaga" hoodie proudly.
MAGAt no. 2, who is being yelled at by his obese Karen of a wife to grab the bigger kitty litter bag, says, "Great sweatshirt!" as he struggles to lift the Costco size bag of litter from the shelf.

Me, buying a new leash for my dad's mutt, loudly laughed at them both.

Less than twelve hours until SEIZURE DAY!
The suspense is building!
Will Mr. Art-of-the-Deal pull off a last-minute miracle to avoid having the foundation of his financial house-of-cards pulled out from underneath him?

Will RightGuide and JimArpy gnash their teeth and bemoan Teh End Of Civilization As We Know It?

What properties will be seized?

And
Will they take teh PLANE?!?

kuschner has big plans for Serbian development... pissing off locals, especially since the 99-year lease is being given free

Leaked plans indicated the building will be replaced by three large glass towers a few metres from the Serbian defence and foreign ministries.

The 99-year lease was given to Kushner's company free of charge, the New York Times said.

The sale of the building is a sensitive issue for Serbians as it has become an emblem of the 1999 US-led NATO aerial bombing campaign that put an end to the war in Kosovo.

"Leaving it like this for another 200 years isn't really a solution," retired journalist Srdja Nikolic said.

"But I am against the idea of giving it as a gift to anyone -- particularly to those who initiated what happened."

Fox News Fact-Checks Donald Trump Bond Claim: 'Actually Not True'

lol
During an interview with former federal prosecutor Alex Little on Fox News Live on Sunday, Shawn said: "We've also heard there's a lot of talk about this is unprecedented amount of money. This has never happened before. But that's actually not true. This is from Letitia James, the attorney general's own court papers I'm gonna show it to you right now."
A graphic then appeared on the screen listing multiple court cases with bonds at or over $1 billion, including Sony Music Entertainment v. Cox Communications at $1.2 billion, Apple v. Samsung Electronics at $1 billion, Oracle USA v. SAP AG at $1.3 billion, and Carnegie Mellon University v. Marvell Technology Group at $1.5 billion.

The son of Stewart Rhodes, founder of the extremist Oath Keepers, has decided to enter politics as a Democrat

His father is Stewart Rhodes, who is currently serving an 18-year prison sentence for seditious conspiracy for his role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

"It served as a sobering wake-up call in terms of how much danger we are truly in and how the Republican Party enabled a president to become an active danger to this republic," Adams told the Associated Press about his father's involvement in the riot.
Adams described having a difficult childhood with his conspiracy theorist father, who kept the family living in constant fear that the government was spying on them and believing that an apocalypse was always imminent.
"We lived in extreme isolation in one particular cultural bubble in increasingly paranoid and militant right-wing political spheres everywhere we moved in the country, until eventually we ended up in Montana."

i'm very happy he finally managed to escape the toxicity of his father and the fear-bubble created and bolstered by maga thinking and firearms manufacturers/vendors
