And at the end of a long day of zombie fighting, it would be good to have someone to look forward to. 
Wow, I'm relieved to hear that. The pretties kind of lose their sexy appeal when their pretty bits rot off.
Thyri's Plan:
1) Hit what I aim at.
2) One shot, one kill.
3) Hang out with my sister. I bought her all of her heavy hitting guns: AK47, 12 gauge Mossberg, .357 magnum, etc. She's the one preparing for the zombie-pocalypse, but I'm a better shot. That's why she says she's gonna take real good care of me, to keep me by her side.
For reference, it's an 8 inch target, so the center red part of the bullseye is about an inch and a quarter maybe.
I used a Ruger Combination Blackhawk. Those are the cowboy style pistols that you can change the cylinders out. Mine can shoot .38/.357 magnums out of one cylinder, but I usually use the other cylinder to shoot 9mm because they're cheap and.....well, basically, I don't spend a lot of money on things that I'll only get one use out of. Except for toilet paper. You just don't skimp when it's your tushy on the line!
But that target was my results on the 1st of January of this year. It was about 18 long paces distance for me, so I figure that might be about 15 yards. Those are 9mm bullet holes and there were 50 rounds in the box. I know you can't count 50 holes, but I tried to economize and use some of the same holes twice or more.

Nah, I'm really a sweetie. Just don't get downrange when the firing line is hot. I tend to focus to the point of obsession.
Well, I grew up in a family that were shooters. My brothers and my dad, but I learned from my grandpa, who learned from Ed McGivern. (Google him, you'll see)
Then I married my high school sweetheart, who became a soldier. (A tanker crewman, granted, but they all have to learn marksmanship.) I miss him so much, but he'd probably kick my butt for not cleaning my guns after every use.

You're really trying to awaken my protective instincts. Now see if you and Cheska move in together, it would save me a trip after the zombies awaken. We could team up. I'm pretty sure I have enough guns for all of us.
I've been thinking about this zombie apocalypse issue, and I think it will be a self correcting problem.
Consider this, every zombie movie we've ever seen tells us that they are the animated dead, still ambulatory even though their flesh is no longer subject to healing, or repair, rejuvenation. In fact, even the day to day dying off of cells and muscle tone would not be replenished. First of all because they don't eat the kind of balanced diet that would promote healing, and secondly, because they are not going to find enough food once the initial supply of uninfected flesh is either devoured or infected.
So really, all we have to do is hole up somewhere and wait. Within about 60 days, the flesh on most zombies would have decayed enough / sustained enough damage that the muscles would no longer be able to articulate the skeleton. Thus would they be rendered immobile, even though they may still pose a danger if you got close enough to accidentally get bit. But they would also be much easier to dispose of, being able to crush their rotten skull like an eggshell merely by stepping on it.
So all we really have to do is lay in a supply of food where we can hide or defend for a couple months, then wait for nature to take it's course.
