Yes, the zamboni, alone, is worth the price of admission. It always reminds me of a great woolly mammoth.

(Yes ... I know .. pretty strange, Yogi.)

I'd rather drive the Zamboni than be one of the hockey players. ;)

Oops.

Sorry, this was supposed to be a reply to DCL's hockey thread.

(Never mind!)

Oh that's ok Yogi. I rather enjoy the zamboni. It's worth starting a thread about. :D

Zamboni. Sounds like something fried with powdered sugar they sell at the San Genaro Festival every year.

That's zeppolli--goddamn, I love fried dough!

You wanna meet me on the Manasquan Boardwalk near the Lemonade stand so me and Tony and Joey D. can kick your ass back to Cherry Hill, or what?

Make that the Casino in Asbury Park, and you're on. (And Cherry Hill's the wrong end of the Turnpike--I'm strictly exit 14: A, B or C.)

So, you live by the refineries, eh? Good. Cause when me and my boys are done fucking you up you're gonna look as bad as you smell. Now go get me a slice, extra cheese, and a Stewarts Root Beer. Ba-da-bing.

Greetings from Asbury Park ..

New Jersey's only got 21 counties, I don't remember Hollyweird being one of them.

Born in NYC. Moved to Central Jersey at 5. Moved back to NYC in my 20s. And now I'm in La-La-Land. But, like they say, you can't get the Jersey outta the boy...

oh yikes Jersey boy ...

i was kidding ...

i guess you have to get to know me a wee bit better to figure out my warped sense of humour .... ;)

sorry ....

True, true. So, what exit were you? I got relatives all over: Middlesex County (the Brunswicks, the Amboys), Monmouth, Exit 12, 11, 9, 8A--and down the Shore, too.

And Bella, we're cool.

123 off the Parkway, down 9 to...Well, let's just say it's past Old Bridge and before Freehold. I knew a wife of an E Street band member. I know where the Battle of Monmouth took place. I camped out at Turkey Swamp. I heard Bystander live. I worked Raceway Park as a kid and went to the Auction on weekends. I learned to drive on the Freehold Circle, and know every version of the Jersey Devil story. I can fly through a Turnpike toll-booth doing 45, and still get my quarters in the basket. I body-surfed at Manasquan beach, and I know how to pronounce "Manalapan".I know that Jersey is the most densely populated state in the country, and that Atlantic City actually looked better before the Casinos got there. I know that pizza is supposed to be eaten in hand, folded, while walking, and that the only people who call is "Joisey" are from New York.

Some people......ya just know you're in for trouble when their signature line reads....."it's hard to be a saint in the city". lol

I'm not from there....but what's wrong with Cherry Hill? I lived in Pennsauken for a little while....not far from that famous dining experience "The Pub". lol

Enchanted

I saw Count Basie (yes really--the Kid from Red Bank) play with his big band in a roller-rink on Rte. 9, near Texas Road (520).
I knew a wife of an E Street band member.
I was at the Stone Pony the last night of Elvis Costello's first US tour, and Max Wineberg and Gary Tallent were there, John Hammond, et. al.
I know where the Battle of Monmouth took place.
Any relation to LightHorse Harry Lee?
I camped out at Turkey Swamp.
Never did camping as a kid.
I worked Raceway Park as a kid and went to the Auction on weekends.
Englishtown is still my favorite place to go Christmas Shopping.
I learned to drive on the Freehold Circle, and know every version of the Jersey Devil story.
The circle's gone:( , Devil stories are forever--I once spent a summer near Chatsworth.
I can fly through a Turnpike toll-booth doing 45, and still get my quarters in the basket.
I'm sure you meant Parkway--it costs more now.
I body-surfed at Manasquan beach, and I know how to pronounce "Manalapan."
Whadda 'bout Manalokin and Hopatcong?
I know that Jersey is the most densely populated state in the country, and that Atlantic City actually looked better before the Casinos got there.
Resorts International, Memorial Day 1978 (I had just graduated from college).
I know that pizza is supposed to be eaten in hand, folded, while walking, and that the only people who call is "Joisey" are from New York.
Are you married?
