So I was listening to the radio, and this song that just BUGS the crap out of me, and I realized we don't have any threads here devoted to music we can't stand. (Me? Spend too much time here? Talk about a sign you're spending too much time on lit. ) So, here we go. Music that bugs you, for whatever reason. Maybe the tune bugs you, or you like the tune, but can't stand the words or both.

The song that inspired this thread idea was Norah Jones Don't Know Why. Why does it bug me? Cause every time she starts singing 'I don't know why I didn't come' I want to say 'um, cause you didn't use your vibrator? duh?'

Another song that bugs me is Toby Keith's Get Drunk and Be Somebody. Why? I love the music - it's bouncy and fun. The words are flat out freaken stupid.

Another one is Journey's Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'. Once again, love the music, hate the words. It's freaken imature.

I love the music on that song, but I agree about the message. Even if it is a bit funny.

On the other hand I know what my friend was singing when she rammed her car into her boyfriends car shortly after she caught him cheating.

Booze+cheating boyfriend+carrie underwood song=BAD IDEAS!

Tub Thumpin' by Chumba Wumba. When we were stationed in Germany, I swear this song came on the main miliitary/English speaking radio station every 5th song. When I first heard it, I thought it was kinda neat.....now I cringe whenever I hear it.

Oh, and anything by Barry Manilow...too much of him on our piped music at work.

A lot of the new "emo" stuff irritates me, largely because I live with two teenage boys, the younger of which plays it over and over and over and over... Like there's one song by Cradle of Filth, for example, that he played at least once a day for 18 months! And to think I used to like the song.

Well, if we're talking specific singers . . . hm. Shoot, I know their's people I won't listen to, but no one comes to mind.

As a rule I don't like Kid Rock (or almost any rap), but their are a few numbers I like. ('Picture' and 'Cowboy' come to mind.)

Um, I don't dislike Sinatra, but he's sure not on anywhere near my favorite's list. He's got a few things I like. I've got a Christmas CD of his that I love.

Personally, Hank William Jr bugs the crap out of me. He makes my skin crawl. But their's some stuff he's done that I love. *shrugs*

Not a fan of Journey...literally anything they have done is on the no airtime list..

Britney just sucks... and is not getting any better with age.

The first song that came to mind was "Mony Mony" by Billy Idol. I don't know why, but it makes me want to run screaming while pulling fistfuls of hair from my head. Anything by Creed would come in a close second.
