You're beautiful...

It was my pleasure. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy just remembering it...

Humans aren't always my favourites so it does me good to be reminded that not everyone is as asshat-ish as it may seem...

Humans aren't my favourites either...that's why I usually work with animals.

I'll still go to Starbucks & pay it forward...as long as it touches another human I don't care if the corporation makes some money.

And...

There's always the random act of kindness that ripples throughout the day...

Random acts of kindness rock! I actually do this a lot going through drive ins! So much fun to make people smile!

i hear you there, Thandi! working with humans is what i do for a living. working with animals is what i do for me --and them....

I used to work with a crew of nurses that had a tradition. Every Sunday that we worked together the nurses took turns buying lunch for the whole floor. The nurses didn't allow anybody else to buy, but they fed the entire department - aides, ward clerk, even housekeeping and transporters. It didn't cost that much and it worked out to buying lunch every 2-3 months.

The ward clerks and aides appreciated it, but it was the housekeepers who made it worthwhile. They didn't expect to be shown appreciation or to be noticed as part of the team. I miss that group of nurses. That's what teamwork is all about. If you can do something for someone else, do it. If you can't do something for them in a financial sense, you can still show support and appreciation.

And for the record, I've been doing my own version of pay it forward for the past couple of years. Not just at Starbucks but also at a local restaurant.
