Your Tattoos

Before I answer your question I want to say this: What transpires on these threads is excellent writing material; its rarely the sort of play-acting that happens in creative writing courses. And I excel at jerking knots in people's tails to elicit real responses. Keep this in the back of your mind.

Tats. I go with the stats. I appreciate that not all lions roaming the streets are dangerous, and I have no intentions of doing a Baye's Probablility Test to sort them out. About 80% of serial killers wear tats, about 75% of antisocial personalities wear them, most gang-bangers and skin-heads wear them. See where this is going?

Seriously though, you are not dealing with statistics here, but talking to individual people. I am neither. I feel guilty about killing cockroaches! I am no more a serial killer than I am a supermodel. You make this huge assumption about me. I was serious when I said generalising is not smart. It doesn't allow for individuality, which is something humans are big on.

When a hyena see's a male lion trot into Dodge, she gets the fuck out of town. I appreciate that a few witches are good witches.

You don't act like it and labelling me a skank just because I have tattoos certainly doesn't sound like it.

Hi Sarg. How's Korea? :D He called me a skank, not because I do anything skanky, just because. He opened fire first. H'es an angry dude and he openly admits he stirs the shit out of people for kicks. Sometimes that's gunna bite you in the arse.

Korea's cold. And snowy. Oh, i know he's angry. I'm not here to defend anyone (though if you ask, I will whisk you away in my tattooed arms). You're a grown woman and holding out just fine on your own. I was just kinda curious where an attitude like that formed. Perhaps there was a very valid reason for hating things like that and it just rooted and grew and grew.

I know plenty of people who are intolerant on many levels about many things. And, i like to get to know about what makes people tick.

I do see where you are going with that. About 75-80% of all soldiers have tattoos as well. We outnumber serial killers, but not gangs.

As for all of that, I was just curious (basically) if this was an idea that came from your parents or if you happened to form it on your own out of personal experiences and research. thank you very much.

As far as it being excellent writing material, you are right. I have also solved a major problem with my story (the characters are talking again) by breaking up my routine again. Thank you though. I appreciate the help. Seriously.

I'd like to know the real reason he feels that way too. And thank you, i am slipperier than a greased weasel in a fight (its an Aussie thing. You ever meet any of us in the service?)

My dad had tats; they looked trashy on him, and they looked trashy on his friends. He and they were ex-cons.

For anyone who thinks tattoos aren't art....

Here's my bio-organic sleeve.

It's teeth meets tongue tentacle, done in pastel shades as opposed to gorey, and has incredible depth.

Different, and thought provoking, and I don't really care who doesn't like it, I love it, and that's all that matters to me.

I don't judge people without tattoos, please don't judge people with them.

I wonder if your opinion would be different if your Dad was someone to look up to, instead of posting bail? How would that have shaped your views on things? I wonder Jimmy.

And what makes somebody trash or not?

I have tattoos, I have both arms covered.

I work hard in life, have been in a job 25 years with a pension.

I commit no crime.

I emphasise to my daughters the importance of doing well at school and reaching their potential, as there's nothing worse than wasted talent.

I behave within the boundaries of society, and gladly so.

But by adorning tattoos.. I am trash?

Meanwhile... over here, there are people, men of the church (I won't divulge which) are regularly being defrocked for sex charges against minors.

Yes... and they don't have tattoos, and have given their life to God, have been devoted to spreading the gospel... and just happen to nonce children in their spare time.

But I'm trash.

You couldn't make it up... you really couldn't!!!

Nice work Greg. I agree with the choice in hue of the colours. More than enough to catch the attention and look at the details.

Geez Jimmy, you're getting pretty lame with the come-backs. I've noticed a lot of juvenille behaviours in your posts. Must have been a lonely Christmas and you just need some attention, is that it?

My best stuff you gotta pay for, fat boy. I'm not a freebie whore and cheap trash like the rest of you.

No wonder you're so poor Jimmy. You'll be standing with your hat in your hand for a long time before anyone thinks you have something to say worth paying for. And even if I did pay, I wouldn't get my money's worth out of you.

One thing I'm not though, is fat. If you paid attention to AV's, you'd see I'm far from looking like you.

I think they are art. Fascinating. And I really only like tatts when they are something I can personally appreciate as artistic and not some poorly executed and ugly ink. I understand lots of people cannot afford the kind of quality work you have there, but damn - it's fine work. Your post highlights the difference between the work of a tattoo artist and a hack.

because he is mentally disturbed, and he doesn't take his meds. That's the only reason he needs.

I have. Served with them in Afghanistan for OEF IV and VII. Buncha crazy fuckers. Always bothered me that they and the Germans had beer whilst we sat across the street without. Because of the difference in policies (and our attempts at trading our shit for their shit), we weren't allowed to interact much.

I only saw them for about 30 days though they moved forward into a FOB and we did as well. Bagram was kind of a clearing house like that. I went to Shkin and never saw hem again until OEF VII, where the same thing happened and we went off to Orgun-e

I just don't like them. It looks like a form of torture, kind of like branding cattle. I think art belongs on a canvas that can live long after you are gone. I don't judge the person or the artist. It just does nothing for me. My opinion.
