Your PM Box is full....

Hi everyone,

While I know the frustration of PMing another and finding their PM Inbox is full, in the interests of not cluttering the board, could we please stop creating threads to alert the poster we wish to reach that we need to communicate with them? To my knowledge, Lit sends an email to the person telling them they need to empty their box, and who specifically has been trying to reach them so they are likely to get the message even before the thread on the board is seen.....that is as long as they open their email. Any threads I have found have been moved to the Cafe at the moment, but please could we all try to be a little patient and PM again later once the person is back online and has had an opportunity to delete some of their messages?

ROTFLMAO, now those of us guilty of not keeping space in our Inbox are the ones who need swift and severe punishment to help us mend our nasty, thoughtless ways. Wonder who would like to deliver it...perhaps AA needs some stress relief?!!
Hmm, perhaps that is going to encourage some of our ladies to let their Inbox overfill so they can line up for AA...bad choice perhaps!

I had to transfer some of my favorite old PMs to text files so I could clear out some space. You definitely get an e-mail, as I've gotten many.

Funny, I don't. There was a glitch in teh system a bit over a year ago and I haven't gotten an e mail since.

(Even though I have that option checked.)

However, I wonder if people realize they ahve to clean out their "sent items" and "message tracking" folders as well. There are some people that seem to either get about a hundred pm's a day or aren't cleaning out their boxes down to the corners.

For some reason I always thought Message Tracking didn't count toward the total! Well shoot, I should be able to receive lots of PMs now that I've cleaned that out.

it might be helpful to inform people that on the user control panel page down at the bottom left hand corner it tells us how many messages are in our folders..mine never gets full anymore since learning that because i can delete some stuff before it's reached capacity. just a thought

and it wasn't being smart..a birdy told me cuz she too got tired of ppl posting to me to empty my pm box..lol

and go right ahead and stalk me..just make sure you get me in the end..lol

What I've been doing since someone told me, is going to the bottom of the first page of Lit discussion board.

When I click on the user cp button on the top right of any page, which takes me to a page that says user cp, I don't have anything in the bottom left hand corner. Am I on the wrong page?

yep i sent ppl to the wrong page, its found on the main lit discussion board page..scroll down and its on the left..sorry i steered ya wrong

Ok, yes, that's where I've been looking, just thought there might be something right in with the messages or some other place. And thanks for posting the reminder!

(I never think to look in that email addy I gave, either -- which is where they give notifications. Should probably check occasionally.)
