I’m not a fan of the ‘all African Americans are hung like horses’ trope. In a recent story about a college blowbang competition, I had one of the faculty attend called Professor Zhou and he was much larger than all the other guys.

Basically my inspiration for Pornville was similar to yours in that i wanted to write a story and fit as many porn tropes into it as I possibly could while still keeping it a coherent story.

Pornville doesn't contain EVERY trope, of course, but it covers a lot of the big ones.

I think part of the view problem was I put it in the wrong category, really should have published in Sci Fi / Fantasy.

I felt it was the typical T/I which really does not work for me.

If the tropes (back seat riding, little sister, clueless dad, etc.) were intended as making fun of the genre, they went over my head.

That is the danger with humor/satire. What ones find hilarious might fall flat in someone else opinion.

it really wasn’t so much "making fun" of the genre as it was intentionally setting out to write most cliché incest story possible.

I think that you might have hit all the T/I bad tropes, all was missing was 10 inches and EE.

The sad thing is that you got 352K+ views. 352 x more than Pornville which such a great story.

But I am also throwing stone living in a glass house. I wrote some (bad) Erotic Couplings which I felt were hot but did not get much traction.
So I went the R/NC route and got more viewers and positive votes than I dreamed off. And these are not better written that the Erotic Coupling ones. But the readers love it. However, I feel that this is selling out. Is it? No clue. It is for someone smarter than me to answer it.

Trust me I understand your quandary.

The truth is, as much as we can sit here in a thread and discuss tropes and how much we hate certain ones, the fact is that most readers here fucking LOVE tropes.

The reaction to Mom's Backseat Boy drove that home to me in a huge way.

Love them, hate them, or indifferent, those tropes aren't going anywhere.

I can’t stand it when a story starts by describing the characters as if it’s a casting call. I lose interest when I’m not allowed to form my own image of the characters. Of course, it makes sense to describe something naturally in the flow of the story, like “her long hair fluttered in the wind” or “she laughed so hard the borrowed bra snapped because her breasts didn’t really fit in it.”

Stories that are only about sex bore me. I just stop reading them.

I also really dislike huge chunks of text in italics that serve no purpose, or excessive bolding, or too many emdashes. It all needs to be functional, otherwise it just distracts me from the story.

OTOH, I've actually introduced a character into the next story I'll release who has an 8 inch penis. To use TV Tropes lingo, the trope is subverted, as my big-dicked guy is the only such character I've introduced in 10 stories, and also finds that there's a downside to his endowment. In this story, for one, he has to interrupt a very fun blowjob because the inexperienced woman he's with starts to choke, and it's implied that he avoids anal even when it's offered because he hates the idea of hurting someone.

I'm happy to see this - in my current series, one of the new, major supporting cast characters is extremely well-endowed, and it makes him miserable for a solid chunk of the story, because nobody can handle it and he thinks he's deformed and will never get laid because of it.

Of course, eventually he finds someone who can handle him and things work out, but I enjoyed turning the big-dick-is-always-better thing on it's head for a while.
