Beer is healthy for you. In moderation. Some primitive beer with just enough alcohol in to kill germs would have been a healthy staple once. Medieval and earlier days had small beer. 2% alcohol. Drink like water.

I don't think taking nutritional tips from a time when the average human life span was 31. 3 years is such a good idea.

That was at birth. Birth and infant mortality dragged that number down. If you got to 21 you could expect another almost 30 years.

And back then it was actually safer to drink beer than water.

The ribs are enveloped in smoke!

Yes, it's going to be a very good meal tonight.

My great-grandmother would approve of this.
This was a Polish woman who would take her boiled pierogi and fry them in butter and bacon grease, then top with bacon.
This was a woman who would put homemade horseradish sauce on kielbasa sandwich with hot sauerkraut on it

This is quite common in my experience.

I  homemade horeradish! So much sharper!

Have any of you grown horseradish and made fresh sauce?

I have. Found that if you freeze it all the good flavors are gone!

Dig only as much as you will use in a reasonable time. If you can, take your blender outside. My eyes closed and refused to open for quite a while.

But it was good!

Yum! The Greek joint that I liked that was nearest to me closed.

That's a bummer:(. I have Greek food on damn near every corner around me. Coney Islands are very popular in my area and most are owned by Greeks. I always gravitate towards lamb or grape leaves though.

I've never made chicken lemon rice before. It before but it turned out pretty good.

It looks delicious.

I'm going to have to try and make it. I miss being able to get the most amazing Greek food at any hour of the day.

I had Greek chicken the other night that was a "special" at a local place. It came with spanakopita. It was the worse thing I've eaten in a while. It was cold and nit made with phyllo but some bread type dough.
