Tonight we did cedar plank salmon, on the grill.

We had an extra soaked plank, so I halved a couple pears and scooped out the seeds.
I let them bathe a bit in some rye whiskey and honey, then spooned some blue cheese crumbles in the scoop cavity, wrapped the halves in a wide slice of prosciutto, then set them on the cedar plank, on the grill, for about 15 - 20 minutes.

Served them in small bowls, with a wee drizzle of honey and a spoon of vanilla ice cream.

DEE-LICK-CIOUS!
food porn. right. there.

I have a cast iron dutch oven with lid. Perhaps, Uzbek bread, obi non, or in Russian “lepyoshka," could be made outdoors ?

At last, the good, warm weather is in Boston.

I never asked Des which tea was a good match for Crosse and Blackwell.

It is gentle, and just a bit bitter.

*sigh*

Not just Blockbusters.
There are a good number of Ma & Pa Video Rental shops in the Northern townships, work camps, and remote communities.

I stepped inside one last year, in the Yukon territory, and it was like stepping through a portal that dropped you twenty-five years back in time.

They had rows and rows of narrow shelving, loaded with DVDs and VHS tapes, 'Please Be Kind, Rewind' banners, and the wee, back corner room with the blue movies and the squeaky-springed man door, complete with the black panther slinking on a sign cello-taped to it, advising "XXX NO MINORS".

V For Vendetta eggs

Butter bread slices on both sides. Cut an approximately 2 inch circle in the middle of each slice, using a cookie cutter or small glass. Place buttered bread slices on a preheated frying pan, over medium heat. Add a bit of butter to the center of the bread, and gently crack your eggs into the holes. Cook until whites are opaque. Flip the egg toast, and finish cooking other side.
