Your first concert

Is anyone else hearing songs crashing against each other as they read this thread? :)

I'm pretty sure it was Wishbone Ash, circa 1975. I don't recall the opening act, but I do remember it was the first time I'd ever seen a thick pot-smoke haze in the University gymnasium.

Around the same time, I saw Fleetwood Mac (their hit at the time was "Hypnotized", with Bob Welch, pre- Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham), J. Giels Band (Give It to Me), Looking Glass (Brandy, You're a Fine Girl), and also Mo Udall running for President in the Dem. Primary for the 1976 election. I cast my first-ever vote for him on my 18th birthday, as I recall.

Okay, I am jealous of many people here, however I get to say that I went to my first concert about five years ago, when I was a Freshman in high school.

It was Kittie's Run Like Hell Tour with My Ruin, Skinlab, Flaw and Kittie. :D

Jealous ? I've never even been to a concert :p

The first I went to without parental involvement is rush back in 89 at the Oakland Colisseum. (Presto Tour, as I recall)

First concert of my choice...don't judge, my taste improved...
Rick Springfield in the early 80's
Back when $10 was the expensive ticket!

I've heard of them , though I can't place them at the moment.
I'll put some on the next swap CD then, if we do any more.

Sínce I was aiming for songs and artists that were a little less known, I didn't include them. I guess they are bigger in Europe than in the US.

Last Concert and next

The last concert I went to was Status Quo in Margate two years ago.

The next concert? I've just come from a meeting arranging a series of concerts for the summer. Brass Bands, local pop groups, string quartets...

August 1969

My first concert was seeing Led Zeppelin at The Aerodrome (a former bowling alley) in Schenectady New York in August 1969 touring behind their first album.

Right around that time I saw the Jeff Beck Group at the same place, and liked them more, mostly because I thought the lead singer was so cool the way he leaned back against the amps spaced out while Jeff soloed.

Rod the Mod, what happened to ya?
