Your AH doppelgänger

I've lost count of how many times I've been about to post on a thread and found @Bramblethorn has got there before me - or has come along after, to say the same thing only better and with citations.

Our stories have some overlaps - there's polyamory, lesbians and bisexual women, autism, etc.

In real life I'm someone who people always think they've met before, because one average English-looking woman looks much like another. A bunch of my cousins actually do look near-identical to me, especially from nose upwards. My folks sent my aunt a photo of me and first baby, and got the reply, "That's a lovely pic of our Citron, where did you get it from?" "What do you mean? That's our Kumquat, not your Citron!" Aunt sent back a pic of cousin Citron and baby, and if it wasn't for the hospital wall being a different colour, even I'd have sworn it was me.

Brambles takes a good deal of time and effort to construct their replies and I am the wiser for reading them. Brambles has no doppelganger :rose:

I had a similar situation. Nearly 20 years ago my wife had my high school senior portrait on her desk at work. An associate dropped by and asked "Why do you have a picture of [a local high-schooler] on your desk?" This kid was her work-experience assistant. As life would have it, this young man adopted us as the functional family he did not have at home, and we helped him through college. He looks less like me these days, but he could definitely pass as our son.

He has a very successful career overseas, and at 32 corresponds almost daily. Mostly food pictures, tho'... definitely a Millennial...
