I to was like both of you and would rather have been alone although that's not what I wanted. O think it partly low self esteem and not feeling excepted by your peers as who you are. . I married 2 yrs ago at age 52. I love my wife dearly but did not have many experiences with women but wish I could have. You need to figure out what's holding you back and fix it, try not to take as long as I did because time truly slips by at an incredible speed when you get older.

Thanks for the reply, recently I have kind of felt my life going by, and the creation of this thread was certainly motivated by that. Just trying to do things differently than I have in the past.

FWIW, I was 24 when I lost my virginity. You want your first time to be with someone you know and who cares about you. Don't rush it or put pressure on yourself just to meet a milestone. Good luck!
