In the distant past, god-like alien beings led by Uatu the Watcher traversed the cosmos in search of worlds with the potential for intelligent life, after which they guided the evolution of these planets to produce sentient humanoids. On Earth, this resulted in the emergence of a dormant metagene in several human tribes, most of whom lived their lives never knowing of the potential abilities lurking just below the surface. The few that did manage to unlock their powers became the gods and heroes of great legends, their offspring eventually branching off into the Homo magi subspecies, marked by active metagenes from birth. Eventually, the Homo magi decided it was best to hide their true nature from non-magi, and the truths of magic and power vanished into mythology.

Over the centuries that followed, there were occasional instances of non-magi awakening their dormant metagene in times of extreme stress or grief, though these situations began to occur more frequently as the global human population increased. There was a sharp rise in the number of non-magi metahumans in the 1920s and 30s, many of whom sought to exploit non-powered individuals for monetary gain. This led to the formation of the Justice Society of America in 1940 to combat these emerging supervillains.

In 1942, the threat of Nazi Germany had grown so severe that the Society was forced to intervene, bringing World War II to an end by 1945. They were heralded as American heroes, though eventually the Society disbanded in 1951 after a rift had erupted between the members about whether or not they should intervene in the Korean War as well. Over the decades that followed, the Justice Society of America faded into the archives of old newspapers, until the eventual formation of the Justice League in 2009 to fight against an alien invasion led by the Reach.

Now it is Friday evening, July 5th, 2019. The ten year anniversary of the League's founding. To commemorate this milestone, the Hall of Justice in Washington, D.C. has been transformed into a museum while League operations have been relocated to the newly-constructed Watchtower space station in low-earth orbit, which is co-inhabited by scientists and astronauts from NASA, ESA, and STAR Labs.

Tonight is the grand opening of the remodeled Hall of Justice Museum, and our characters are sidekicks to the League members attending the celebration. However, we are about to experience a graduation day of sorts as our mentors begin falling into strange comas during the party and we are forced to rise to the call to defend Earth against a strategic assault from all sides.

I will be playing Nightwing and Superboy as my two mains, though my version of Dick Grayson will actually have powers once he realized he is a Son of Trigon. The League of Shadows and the Court of Owls will also play prominent antagonist roles in the story. Feel free to ask questions and leave character ideas in the posts below.
