You made a very valid point - BUT

Islandman is obviously blind, Eumenides. But didn't you know that i'm a sexual non-entity? I thought everyone knew that...

Thanks, M. I think he should kiss it first. Then, maybe if he's a good little peteypie, I'll let him pay homage to the Lone Star.

Heck yeah newbie. Mia has less than 450 posts and has only been here since Nov of 2002. She seems to have caught on quick but that is only because Mia did well in school.

Ah, well, then clearly I'm a freaken virgin.

If you are a virgin that knows how to make naked snow angels then you are truly a gift from above.

I once knew a man who was going make one of those for me...long ago, in another life.

too bad you did it as Unregistered.

I understand the need at times to post as unregistered but why do it when you actually have valid things to say? I have read many posts along the way that are intelligent and well thought out - but all credibility is lost once you do not post it as your usual user name.
I'll always pour it out ..
now need to be shy....play with the BIG BOY'S

Well, it was a conditional, and I'm no virgin.

Gawd, there are times that I wish I had the nonguts to post as an unregistered yet I can't. I just think that you should be proud of your valid points - whether the rest of the flock agrees or not.

:rose: I think that's an excellent idea from a "really experienced" newbie! I sure hope you never have to see this quotation dredged, Mia62, Because I have high hopes for you.:rose:

Personally, unregistered is usually so nasty that I don't read it's posts, or open it's threads, because odds are that I regret doing it when I have.

Why do people post as unreg? It’s simple...if they were to post under their own name, two things could happen. 1) Everyone would find out that some are trolling themselves to get more attention. 2) Whoever was being 'trolled', would get upset (whiney, hurt, angry), which would probably cause a lot of other members to get upset. Then you have this big 'posse' (I use this term loosely) of the upset person(s)'s friends, who would then begin making the 'troll' person's life a living hell until they left.

And that’s just two of the reasons I can think of :)

Not a single unregistered post has any credibility? That's bullshit. I've posted unregistered... at a time when I was fairly new to the board and I didn't want people knowing me as 'that chick who was raped by her step brother' I posted about it as unregistered. I've posted about marital difficulties as unregistered, because at the time my husband was reading Lit and I didn't necessarily want him reading certain posts. I'm sure there are other times I've posted unregistered in an effort to shield myself in one way or another. Funny thing is, I think people thought those posts were valid, because they got replies.

A question, not a jab... how is posting unregistered different from changing your handle?

THOSE reasons are the valid ones that I spoke about in my first post...the reasons WHY people feel the need to post as unreg. They do make very valid, emotional statements and there is nothing wrong with that.

My comment was based on threads where the mob is swarming with the same opinion and an unreg comes in with a different, yet fresh and valid point of view. Why post those ones as unreg?? That was the point of my comment.

Yes, it was a jab...but that's ok. You stated that you posted as unreg when you had personal issues to discuss. I changed my name for personal reasons as well.

Ok, but this is what you actually said:

If you took it as a job, fine. That's not how it was intended. It was an honest question. If not posting under 'your usual user name' rips all credibility away from your posts, as you claim it does, then how is posting under a new handle different from posting as unregistered?

How can you judge someone's unregistered posts to be invalid without knowing why they're unregistered?

1: Not all unregisteredposts are intentionally unregistered -- sometimes the board log people out while they're typing and they don't notice the post doesn't have their name on it.

2: Some unregistered posts are by people who are just that -- unregistered passersby who may never plan on coming back.
