Can I interest anyone in a thread devoted to erotic cinema? Bet this has been done before in here already, but perhaps we have some new material?? I will go first then:
My favorite erotic movie is "Nine and a Half Weeks". I just love Mickey Roarke's character and the way Kim Basinger plays so submissive to him. Does anyone else like this flick as much as me, or maybe you have another sexy movie favorite?

I may be the only one in North America who saw this...

I was rather fond of "Body of Evidence" with Madonna, however seeing Willem DeFoe in such a role was kind of disturbing.

Also I don't know if this movie counts, but I thought "GIA" with Angelina Jolie was great.

Hmm....I like erotic movies, even out and out porn on occasion, but what I enjoy most in a movie is implied. For example, tension building between 2 characters I often find much more stimulating the act itself.

I haven't watched anything technically erotic in a long time, but I must say "Sliver" always works on me.

I loved 91/2 Weeks, also. The way it built up the tension, untill something had to happen was wonderful.
In Body of Evidence, what about Ann Archer? Wasn't she wonderfull? and soo bedable! There is something about Madona that is to easy, Imean I wouldn't kick her out of bed, but I don't think that I would persue her either.

I personally thought and still thinks, that Body of Evidence sucked big time.
9½ weeks rocked, that was a really good one.

Haven't really watched any good ones lately, so I think I'll stick with the classics here

Wilde Orchideen

If we are not talking porn but "official" movies I would have to vote for "Wilde Orchideen" (which I assume would be Wild Orchids?) with Mikey Rourke (or however his name is spelled and I can't even recall the name of the female actress).

Although I don't like the end of the movie I like a lot of the scenes in it ... like when she spies on the couple in the run down hotel ruin with the water splashing all over the hot bodies, or when they go to the restaurant and he takes her to the garden where all people are wearing the feathered masks and this couple gets to it right there on a table in the middle ... or when she goes to the room with this lawyer and he thinks she is a prostitute ...or when this other couple finds back to each other in the limo and she they watch it ... or when her boss pics up the surfer dude from the beach and ....

Uhhhohhh - I better stop now ... the typing anyway

I have to agree with 91/2 Weeks as well. VERY sexy movie.

Has anybody seen 'I Like To Play Games'? I looovvved that one. Also a very sexy movie, though definitley more low budget than the other flicks mentioned.

Well I have to say, I did just *love* that scene Hecate referred to in Wild Orchid, with the masks. Another one that I loved, but most everyone I know hated intensely, was Eyes Wide Shut. Again, with the masks <EG>, okay okay, so maybe it's a fixation, but it's mine and I claim it

How about one you can't stand? For me it *has* to be Exit to Eden. Absolutely adored the book and what it had to say, but can you say 'sell out'? That whole plot line with Rosie O'Donnell and Dan Akroyd was enough to just make me walk right out of the theater. ::shudders:: Of course, I'm really not sure how well it *could* have been done, as it was marketed for mainstream theater. And my one hope is that Anne Rice never ever sells the rights to have the Beauty trilogy made into a movie, can you imagine??

Actually I like Eyes Wide Shut....Nicole Kidman pracing around in that sheer number saying "If you only knew..." was quite sexy
But my favorties are: The Lover with Jane March and Tony Leung.....that just sends me over the edge....the physical beauty of their bodies together...I mean the book was good, but the movie was erotic
The Piano with Harvey Keitel and Holly Hunter....when he walkings in that room and instantly falls at her feet putting his head beneath her dress and ravishing her, I get weak in the knees
Dangerous Liasons...wicked sexy John Malkovich, enough said?

Cheri, Dangerous Liasons, definitely!!! John Malkovich has to be the sexiest, non-handsome man on earth. Hee hee. He exuded sexuality in that movie. I wanted to be Uma in that flick.

It probably wouldn't rate on the Richter Scale these days, but when it came out, Body Heat, with Kathleen Turner and William Hurt was really hot.

I thought the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair was pretty sexy, but I thought they overdid the tit shots.

I still hope they won't do it ... the thought about what would have to be "done" to the books to make it mainstream adapt makes me cringe, and those for sure are stories that are better left to the imagination of the reader (as are a few more, only to mention the most obvious, completely off topic,"The Endless Story" or "Momo")

To be perfectly honest - I even wished she hadn't sold the rights for the "Interview with a Vampire", although this too has a few ... uhmmm ... inspiering scenes, like (again the masks) the one in the theater ...

Oh yes, Hecate! You are on to me, most definitely, that was one of my favorite scenes in Interview. And Dangerous Liaisons, my absolute favorite movie! I'm a huge John Malkovich fan, most people look at me odd when I say that I think he's terribly sexy. ::laughs:: I'll tell you though..it's the *voice* that gets me every time ::shivers::

I forgot to mention Excalibur. If you have seen it you know what I am talking about. It's not just he sex scenes, but the whole Medieval Era that was so beatifully portrayed. Anyway, Excalibur.

My experiences with erotic cinema, are unforturnately, rather few. My StudMuffin doesn't like the steamier stuff, it makes his adorable little self rather embarassed.

The best I could do was this really really (even I knew it was and I was only 9) stupid movie called Fairy Tales, I think. Soft Porn on showtime, the 2 am rendevous. Oh come on, I know I'm not the only one who did it. There was this one about a nurse hired to kill her elderly employer through fatal erections. It was boring too.

But hey, now ya'll gave me shopping list at the video store!

Mistress, do I have to share him? Okay, with you I will. God, that get up. And his voice, and the thought he, as the King, would do anything for her. He even changed time, broke rules, but she insisted on being a good girl. I know for a fact I would have done anything to keep him interested in me. To hell with baby brother!!!! And the costumes in that scene are unreal. At first so pure, then little by little it got more and more erotic, yet subtle.
Ooh. I am glad I have the day off. I better go put that movie in and work on my next story a bit.

The final cut didn't go far enough - I mean what really, eventually happened there. I wonder how Kubrick's finale version looked - if there was one. I wasn't looking for out and out porno (although I think the basics are there for the greatest porno ever made) but I do think definitive resolution was in order. Did she eventually dig it? Did he eventually dig it? No? Who did/didn't and why? I wanted much more on "the club" - it's members - and what went on there. A great idea accidentally withered by the creators death. Too bad. Eyes Closed due to sleeping through the flick.

Gotta agree with you there, Sparky. I left the theatre after thinking...and.....and what....How was her line about going home and fucking supposed to resolve anything? Oh well, too bad.
Did think of another one though, Sex, Lies and Videotapes. James Spader is not so much handsome as sexy as hell there. And if I ever turned lesbian, I would promptly go throw myself at Andie McDowell's feet and beg to be her sex slave.
KillMuff, the cool thing about most of these movies is that they're not about overt sex acts...ok maybe Wild Orchid and the Lover are. But the rest are more erotic than pornographic. Their ability to turn you on is more about your imagination rather than just the hump and grind you see on the screen.
