I'm posting this in memory of my father, who died 3 years, 1 month, and 10 days ago. He brought this home from work many years ago, and it's one of 3 things I took upon his death.

T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house,
The whole damn family was drunk as a louse.
Grandma and Grandpa were singing a song.
The kids were in bed, flogging their dongs.
Ma home from the cat house and me out of jail,
Had just settled down for a good piece of tail.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my wife to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Threw open the shutter and fell flat on my ass.
The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow
Gave a whorehouse luster to the object below.
There was a little old man holding his dick in hand.
I knew in a minute that the bastard was Old Nick.
Slower than snails his reindeer they came,
He bitched and swore and called them by name.
Now Dancer, now Prancer up over the walls,
Quick, God damnit or I'll cut off your balls.
When up on the roof, he stumbled and fell,
Came down the chimney like a bat out of hell.
He stuttered and stamped then went for the door,
Tripped on his dong, and fell flat on the floor.
I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight,
"Piss on you all, It's been one helluva night!"

Merry Christmas

It's hard to believe it's been four years now. Anyway, I hope somebody gets a chuckle out of this.

Merry Christmas

*hugs* April.. my dad and brother have been gone 5 and a half years.. this time of the year is the hardest for me..

I've been told time heals.. and I'm hoping it does..

Thanks for digging this up.. I love it!

Merry Christmas! :)

Christmas is a time for remembering as well. There are several people I miss as we get into the spirit of the season.

I am sorry for you losses and April, your dad had a hell of a sense of humor.

*hugs to all*

February 18, 2001. This is the first Christmas without my dad. I think about him every day. More lately. Holidays can be so difficult. I spent most of my life in search of the perfect christmas. He was the key to that. Now I try to create good holidays for my kids. I am probably in the minority but I will not drink over the next few days, nor will I fight with family, or allow a drunk in my house.

I know this is a place for fun but this thread hit me first thing and just made me feel sad. I love you daddy.

It is a time for remembrance In fact that is what we'll be doing today.

My Dad's sisters are coming over today and we are all going to Granny's grave to reflect and celebrate. Yes, it is a celebration. Granny lived her life to the fullest. She would not have wanted us to be sad. She constantly stayed around young peole because she said it kept her young. She was the life of the Party and was more than willing to give lend a hand or encouraging word. When I look back, I think of her fondly and smile. It will be a good day, and finger foods at Mom's place when we come back. Yes, reflect and count your blessings. Find ways to enjoy this time. I'm sure we can all find a few things to be thankful for. ;) Mine are Happiness for all my friends here at lit.

Yeah, I think my dad had a pretty good sense of humor. When he was sober, that is. He was an alcoholic. He was also quite good at ruining Christmas single-handedly. All holidays are much quieter and more peaceful now. But still, I wonder if things could have been different one day.

It's just hard to believe that four years have gone by. It seems it's been but a blink of the eye.
