Yet Another Category Question

I feel Like I often end up in a dilemma regarding categories in which multiple scenes take place that each have their own themes.

But I need some help. In general, here is a synopsis of my dilemma:

Younger woman is in an affair with an older man. Older man does not know that younger woman is being paid to do so. Younger man paying younger woman to have an affair with older man ends up also paying her to have sex with him.

All consensual.

So… the first coupling honestly is Mature but the rest is Erotic couplings? Am I stuck in utilizing that category?

I say stuck since it usually is not the biggest audience but there may be no other way around it.

My, but we do run into some puzzlers here! It’s a fair question and I think you have assessed it well. My default is generally Mature, but EC would work. Bottom line - it’s your story and your choice. Not much help, perhaps, but there it is. Whichever you go with will be fine.

Yeah, I don't think it's going to scratch the itch in Mature. They're looking for the excitement of the coupling from both sides, more than anything else. If it's from his POV and she's faking it, maybe. Sounds like it's her POV and probably going to be obvious that it's a scam. If the story ends on a coupling between two similarly aged people, that takes it even more out of the wheelhouse.

EC feels like the only logical place to me.

One of the other places where I post, this would be a no-brainer. There's a category called Money for transactional sex stories.

I've always had this notion of a broader category that would include that: Obligatory.

Consensual, but for one of them, not because they want the sex. Sex for money, for a lost bet, a dare, an initiation ritual, to get a job, that kind of thing. It's usually lumped in with NC/R, but it I think it has it's own unique dynamics.

Mature readers don't mind a mix in their stories, and they're the most open minded bunch of the readers on the site, if you ask me. You story premise is unusual, but you're not going to get any kind of moral push-back from Mature readers. They're grown ups, unlike some of the tribes elsewhere.

There are moral monitors everywhere triggered by the most ridiculous things.

In this case my recommendation isn't about triggering, it's more about engagement. I see this as so outside what the readership is expecting that it will barely ( if at all ) do better than it would in EC on any metric but views.

It's bizarre, you getting this kind of feedback from Mature, and reporting your stories don't do that well there. I get none of those type of comments, and it's my most successful category for comments and scores. Totally different content, I guess - I don't know.

I'm not saying my stories don't do well there. It's a top tier category, and my bread and butter frankly.

I'm saying the story suggested here isn't likely to perform well. It's too far outside the readership's expectations, and doesn't push the right buttons. It's back-click city for large segments of the readership in Mature to the point I think it would do just as well in Erotic Couplings, where the second encounter described also fits. That's a primary reason I think it would fail in Mature. The whole second half of the story before the voting form has nothing to do with the category's kink. A story with other content that ends with what the readership is looking for is one thing. At least those who make it there feel rewarded. When you give them a taste and then serve up something completely different in the ending, it's the opposite.

The comments ( paraphrased ) are all things I've had left on stories in Mature. I've also had complaints about stories being "too much like incest" ( his daughter's bisexual girlfriend ) Complaints about small breasts. Complaints about big breasts. Complaints about big breasts but not dwelling on it enough. The readership is more tolerant than most, but don't have any illusions that they're all angels who don't complain about the silliest things.
