I heard of these new rings you place in your vagina that release hormones through out the month. You wear it three weeks and then go a week without. Any one tried this? I have issues with ovarian cysts, so I have to be on something to regulate my periods and keep the babies at bay. My doc isnt being all to helpful (damn Cigna) and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it....

go on the shot...you'll love it. I miss it b/c I can't afford it (damn school health insurance). Anything that you have to put up inside you is going to be a pain in the ass.

Don't put it in your ass then!

lol Sorry! I couldn't resist!

The shot was a big pain in the ass for me. And it is linked with future infertility. I won't take it again until after I have had my last kid.

There is a Lit member that does use the ring and she loves it. I will like this thread to her so she can respond if she is inclined.

I have been using the nuvaring for eight months now and I have had no problems at all... I love it and how easy it is to use.

Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.

Cellis, do you wear it for the three weeks and then remove it for a week to have a period or do you use it continuously for 3-6 months before allowing a break for a period? I want to try the continuous method, but there aren't many women who have used it that way, so I wonder about breakthrough bleeding and spotting.

I use the one where you wear it for 3 weeks and then take it out for a week.... I have had no problems with it at all.

on the shot....

The shot, Depo Provera, may not work for you LoveChild if you need both hormones, Estrogen and Progestin. The shot is just Progestin, like the old mini pill you take everyday without a break.

Make sure the vaginal ring has the hormones you need to control the physiological cysts. Most take the combination pill for cysts and that has two hormones.

Grab your physician by the collar and make him work with you on this.
