So yesterday, I posted the most recent installment in my Proclivities series as Part XVII forgetting that I'd started part XVI and decided to scrap it, feeling it overworked the schoolgirl scene from part XV.
Of course, the only comment points out my error, but said it was a "very nice" story
As consolation, at least XVII got 5 votes and they're all 5's.

That's all, nothing profound here

It's not a bug, it's a feature... :)

You can submit an edit and rename. Directions are in the FAQ.

In a similar vein, I submitted my Crime & Punishment entry, edited it twice, saw it go up and then a commenter pointed out that a character's name changes halfway through...

I've submitted an edit but it's absolutely infuriating, and partly funny.

The self inflicted pressure to publish, I know it too well.

You can always give it a Disney treatment, and turn the missing chapter into a whole spinoff series.

“You thought that characters went to sleep and then woke up a day later? Think again! A subplot happened where they were contacted by a mysterious organisation, saved the world, ascended to godhood, but had to sacrifice it all (along with the memories of said events) to restore the thread of time! Now, only the reader would know what the characters truly had to go through!”
