I used the website building program that came with my Mac. No coding necessary, just cut and paste. It has a number of templates and I used one of those.

Then I registered my domain name and set up a host.

I used CyberDuck to upload the files.

Once I got over being freaked by the whole process (I've become rather a Luddite in my old age) it was astonishingly simple.
