Yay!!

I know their's a thread for telling good things, but I can't find it and the search function hates me. So I'm starting another one.

I got a letter from K yesterday and he called today. :nana: In his letter he mostly talked about how much he missed me and the kids, and all that, but he did mention he nicknamed his gun after me. (They're making them carry their guns all the time and they made them nickname 'em.) I said to him this afternoon 'You might be a redneck if you show your affection by naming your gun after your wife'. hehe He laughed, which was good cause he was getting really sad. We were only able to talk for a couple of minutes but I don't care. Better a couple of minutes than none. :nana::nana::nana:

Graceanne you happiness and peace can be felt through your words. Genuinely very happy for you , hope your K is back soon and safe. @}-}rebecca-----

Awesome, Graceanne! :D The girls I work with think I'm insane, when an email from my guy cheers me up for days. Or a phone call, of which I think I've gotten a total of 4 since November, can keep me bouncing like a toddler on crack for weeks. :D

Maybe I am insane, but it's the little things that count sometimes, right? :) Sounds like your K is doing all right; how long will he have to be away for?

Till the end of may/early june. I know it's probably not that big a deal, when somepeople's SO's are in Iraq, but it's a lot to us.

But yeah, it's the little things. The first letter I got him I yelled 'WOO HOO' real loud on the side of the road and did a little dance. The chick driving by gave me a really weird look. lol

Glad you heard from K and things are going well.

Love the redneck joke too, lol.

Yea!! Happy for you, Gracie. And that's quite a tribute ~ to have his gun named after you. Keep your chin up, girl.

I managed to get the money together to go to SC to see Kenny during his graduation. :nana: I'm also gonna have layovers in Las Vegas, Philadelphia, and Phoenix, and Washington DC.

Congratulations! :) That really is impressive, Brioche.

To help you celebrate, here's an inspirational quote from that New Zealand guy:

"As soon as someone puts me on any sort of pedestal I just want to knock it down. I'm just a normal guy. I eat and sleep and do other things just like everybody else."

Eat and sleep I believe, but..... as for those "other things"...... ..... maybe you could find out, Brioche, and then report back here......

Oh! I also found a visual treat to help you celebrate:

Uh-huh.

Congratulations again,
Alice

That is great news. Hope the layovers give you time for some fun also. :nana:

No, I don't get to bring him home. He's still got AIT to do. *sigh* But he'll get to call more often once he's in AIT. They let them have cell phones, there. They can't have 'em ON all the time, but they can have them.

Yay! :nana: Congrats! *hugs*

I need to get new pants, too. I can pull my pants off without even unsnapping them.

Wow! There is some great news on this thread!

Congrats and hugs to all!

He he he... thank you for the treats. Talk about motivation. You know, he doesn't seem to have his own official online fan club? I looked and all. Well, maybe I didn't look hard enough...
Yeah, Mum and I were pretty stoked - my mum and I are close - especially since the pants were on sale and I got three pairs for $120. Normally they're $60 each. Plus I got a new pair of jeans that I almost fit into for $80 (I could do them up if I lay down, and do up the button without) so that when my current ones are too loose these will fit just fine. Best of all, I have some 14s that I bought when I was working there and put aside, so that means that in a few months I WILL NEVER HAVE TO SHOP IN A PLUS SIZE STORE AGAIN. That will be the big celebration. Well, one of them.
Does he do other things just like everybody else? Hmm, you think I should track him down and find out, huh?
Well, I am planning on doing something crazy and expensive once I get to goal...

Finding this thread is a bitch

My happy moment: We're going on vacation to Spain! :nana: :nana: :nana:
We leave on wednesday and stay one week at the very south of Spain. I'm very much looking forward to getting away from here and from work and studying and spending so much time with my boyfriend, without anybody else. :nana: :cathappy: :cathappy:

Woo hoo! Of course I'd be happier if you were going on vacation to Oregon, but *sigh* I guess it's not meant. lol

Beyond that I rarely start a thread, so if it's a thread I started just click on my profile and then go to 'threads started by graceanne'.
