I just found a little red leaf on my christmas star... I doubt that this is of a lot of importance to anyone else, but it made me happy.

Hurrah for those who take joy in the real pleasures of life.

thanks! I am all excited now - I have never been good with plants, and I was told it isn't all that easy to make them go read again. now I wonder if I will manage to have more red leafs... I think the move from the kitchen to the living room was a good idea too...

My fingers are not green. The only plant I've ever had any luck growing was a spider plant and well, that looked after itself mostly.:)

So congrats! Someone bought me a grow your own Amarylis plant for Christmas *gulp* I feel I may have to go out and buy one and slip it in the plant pot provided so that when she comes to visit, she doesn't realise I killed her present (As I am bound to do!)

what is a spider plant?

oh, maybe the amarylis will be the turn in your life - there is such a turn at some point. mine was a beautiful, almost two metre tall yucca, someone had put to the garbage at my dad's house. i rescued it, had it in the plastic bag i found it with for a while until i could buy a decently sized pot, and almost a year later it is still alive and green and all. my plants don't look as good as they do when i am on vacation and my dad takes care of them, but they still don't look as bad as they would have two years ago (back when i killed anything green by basically ignoring it)...
