This is turning into a good news week.

Funding was approved yesterday to finish my building project (subject to legals, 6 - 8 weeks)
The property we want to buy for the Arts Centre and home is definately available, we just need to agree the price (owners opening suggestion is not entirely stupid) and resolve the planning situation.

Best of all - I've just received confirmation I'm to be publish in Poland.
I won an award there last year for a short piece I wrote, it's a tiny little Oscar like statue, and received an e-mail this morning confirming it will be going to print as part of a compendium of works. this is great news as I'm just about to start pushing for publishing of my first novel and my CV, on the published writing side, was looking rather thin :D

YAY you!!!!! :cathappy:

Yay for you, indeed!!

You deserve for many good things to come your way.

Lou-Lou

P.S. Can I have your autograph, please? ;) :D :p

Thanks muchly. :D

It appears the piece will be printed in English and Polish since they mention in their e-mail that they have a copy of the translation made by a poet friend of ours who did the translation when I gave my presentation this time last year. I suppose I ought remove it from Lit now. Autographs will have to be personally collected

BTW, Yay for a Yay for Me thread.

Note to those who have a Yay for Me but would never post it because you don't want to brag or seem immodest or maybe make others feel bad because they haven't acheieved something they want that you have:

Go ahead and post it. Praising the good is one of the things that gives us satisfaction in lfe. Go ahead and give others an opportunity to do something that gives them satisfaction.

You would't want people to be unsatisfied, would you? ;)

Absolutely fabulous news on all fronts! :nana:

Karma, such a good thing, eh? ;)

Thanks once again, to all of you above.

Karma... it puts the trials of last year into perspective. There were very dark periods, even so, you never give up. Aim high, and as I said on another thread recently, never allow the fear of failure to become the consequence of an inabilty to act. This just the beginning, lots more fun to be had.

Roxanne: I agree, sharing our successes is as important as sharing the things that knock us back, but there are places to share. I post on another writers site, scholarly minded writers where there are successive threads marking achievement. I wouldn't dream of telling them this news, it is a good place to learn, particularly about the craft of editing, finding agents and publishers, but I wouldn't class any of them as 'friends' I'd like to share good news with.
