I use computers at both home and work. I use IE and windows 7 at home and IE and Vista at work. On my work computer when I click to sign into Yahoo the sign in screen appears and the box called "keep me signed in" is always prechecked and I have to uncheck it every time to sign in. This has only come up over the last few weeks and did not do it before. I'm not sure of why the change unless it has something to do with an update. I don't have this problem at home. It is very annoying to have to continually uncheck the box every time I want to sign in. I searched the internet for solutions but haven't hit on the right one yet. This problem doesn't seem to apply to any other site other than Yahoo. Please help.

Hey there,

This is just a yahoo thing and nothing to do with settings etc. Which I am sure you will be glad to know.

What happens is when you log out of yahoo you continue to use the same internet explorer window then when you go back to yahoo it assumes you accidentally logged out so pre ticks keep me logged in which is "helpful" apparently.

The only way around it is to close your internet explorer window and open a new one. Or just do what I do sigh with weariness and untick the box every time you log back in...it kind of becomes less annoying if you don't fixate on it.

Yahoo is beyond pissing me off. I used to comment on NFL.com though yahoo, now when I try they have me logging in through facebook(which I do not have) and through yahoo and saying by clicking yes I agree to share my yahoo information. Yeah right.

I'm stuck in the boat of having so many things attached to that e-mail address that I cannot just up and leave it, but man they are getting me to want to make the effort.

I've stopped using yahoo email. What was once a great email site and super user friendly bacame the opposite. The layout sucks, downloading doesn't work, and I was continually getting kicked out when I had the keep me signed in box checked. Plus, half the time the droid version's email notifications didn't work. I use gmail now. Gmail isn't perfect but I don't have the problems I did with yahoo.

Christ I had the android app for 24hrs it was awful kept pinging at all hours logging out was a nightmare and that was when it worked. Far easier just to use my Wi-Fi or 4g and access it all via my phones browser.

With yahoo buying rights left right and centre they are desperately trying to get everyone to use their one system...instead of winning customers they are losing them sadly I am in the same boat, cannot get rid of my account without messing up my messenger and other things attached.

This thread should change its name to

Yahoo's MANY annoying problems.

Just adding my two cents. My wife hates her Yahoo accounts. They freeze, sometimes just seem to "lose" contacts, and sometimes are just plain non-responsive or slow. I hear her cussing a lot at them in general. However, I have a couple of hotmail/outlook accounts and they're no better. Just remember, they are essentially "free" so like they always say, "ya gets what'cha pays for."

So how many of these problems go away if you pay for the account?

Its to do with the amount of memory, and CPU that yahoo uses. Did you also know they they check your messages, to make sure your not underage or a threat to the nation? Most of the time its waiting for an advert to down load, its an annoying problem, if you want to know more pm me

Lately I keep getting this thing where when I first view my screen my e-mails are huge and the screen fades and I get "my resolution" is wrong. I have looked into it and it does not seem to be. I adjusted it anyway and I still get it.

I do know Yahoo monitors some things. It seems if I am discussing a story with an editor and I detail a sexual scene it asks for me to copy the letters (I forget what you call that) before I can send it.

Considering the material I write I am not happy with that(I do not write under age ever, but do write incest and hardcore bdsm)

I have the feeling yahoo is becoming big brother.

My wife swore by Hotmail until a few months ago when they underwent a lot of changes.

My thing with GMail is its through google and well for me that says it all.

So, has anyone found a good substitute? I use Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail and they all have big issues, lots of ads and I feel they are insecure.

But not sure there are any better alternatives.

Ads only bother me when they take up a quarter of the screen.

I cannot think of a better alternative hence the reason I still use yahoo it is just easier than having yahoo messenger as well as a separate email account on another site.

There are others but they are not a popular as Yahoo Messenger.

Yahoo gives me all sorts of grief. It's a crap chat program!

As a chat programme I don't think its too bad. Pic share works well as does file share. Sure it crashes once in a blue moon but what programme doesn't throw a fit every now and then.

I don't pic or file share, and it seems to crash a fair bit more than once in a blue moon for me.

That's a bummer I guess I have been relatively lucky then, but saying that it will start giving me grief from now on.

That's what I get for sticking up for it.

try

It, the problem, has something to do with your browser. I just installed Lunascape6 and, low and behold, logging in to Yahoo leaves the little box to keep one logged in vacant and empty.
