Yahoo IM help, please?

I just updated to the latest version of Yahoo IM, but I think something may have gone wrong. I updated while I was doing other things online, but once the d/l was complete, it turned yahoo off, and I had to open it again. Nothing looks any different, and what I am wanting to do, the "doodle" feature", is nowhere to be found. How do you access the "doodle" drawing feature?

Isn't that one of the IM Environments? Open a chat screen and trying loading it that way. There isn't much different to the new version except for some new smilies.

OK, pardon me because I'm not anywhere near "at my best"....are you saying that I have to open a box to talk to someone before I can draw? I ask because I wanted to draw by myself...

I *think* that in order to webcam you also have to have the same version of yahoo. Not that I'm worried about that feature or anything...

open a chat box and see the little IMenvironments icon? click on it.

Heck, I can't even find where to load the IMvironments. It used to be under "friend", I think, but that has disappeared.

yes, but you can open a chat window without actually having to chat with someone.

pagancowgirl. . .you're right about needing the same version of yahoo to use the webcam. That happened to me the other day, which is why I had to update my version.

Open the Yahoo window, make sure you don't have any 'friends' slectedd. Press [ctrl] and to open a new message window. In the lower right hand corner, above teh space for typing, is a button that says IMVironments, click it. Go to the folder called Interactive Fun in the list that pops up, click it. Go to the file called Doodle, click it. Doodle.

No, it loaded, I just hadn't opened the chat box, yet. Thank you...

You can do that too.... it is a bit compicated and hard to explain here but it can be done.

A different yahoo problem

Ever since I downloaded 5.0, I don't get offline messages. Teh offline message screen shuts down yahoo. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but to no avail.

Thoughts?

That is odd. Have you tried "tools", maybe they are there?

I gave up on learning to doodle.

You probably need to do a clean install to avoid ypager errors.
