First the thread was not even started until 5:19PM EST on 4/13 so I am a bit confused how the troll struck before the start of the thread.

Second the only troll on that thread was WOOHOO not I AGREE.

Ok I've been here a little time and this troll thing ain't all that clear to me either but I'm a dumb ass so thats nothing new but as near as I can figure it a troll is a person who posts nasty and rude messages on the BB just to rile everyone up then sits back and laughs his ass off while all the regulars go mad calling for their blood, but if you watch the real smart cookies on the BB they just ignore trolls and get on with their own thing.
Trolls are after one thing and that is attention and when they get it (even negative attention) they stick around, some people like troll hunting and breed them by paying them the attention they crave and some of the trolls are supposed to be regulars posting under different names and from time to time you will see gangs of regulars hold kangaroo courts on people who they don't like and scream that their really a troll then a lot of people will line up to kick these poor people all over the BB, it's like the old witch hunt's, if you sink and drown you were really a troll and if you stay then your just a troll who won't go away (either way your fucked just because someone didn't like you)but the truth is that half the time....well most of the time no one knows who is a troll and who is not but thats never made anyone stop and say to them selves "hold on what real proof do I have" still you can't let a little thing like the truth or real proof stop you can ya.

I'd add that trolls are technically posting as a "guest." If the posts are done under a registered name, in theory, it isn't a troll anymore.

As to the personal information comment, that is true. But I'd also like to add that most of us who have been here for any length of time have posted enough about ourselves in regular threads (my thread on how old you are, Lovely Latina's thread on the Lit family album, the various "what do you do in real life" threads, and the various other "question" threads, etc.) that someone doing a little research on you can then easily post as if they are your best friend in the world who is spilling lots of secrets about you. In reality, all they've done is post info which is already available to the board for all to see, but they've made it sound like they have or had an ongoing personal relationship with you. Someone did that here recently. He sent lots of emails to people, so those were obvious to the recipients that this guy had no clue who they really were or any real info about them. But he also posted to the bb about various other people. Those posts sounded more convincing, although if anyone paid attention, he was using information already posted on the bb previously and just adding a few guesses of his own.

Bottom line is that you should be careful what you reveal on the board, and even more careful in what you believe about others that you read here. As Laurel has said, this bb is for entertainment purposes, only. We need to remember that.

Sorry if you feel hurt by my post but I told it as I saw it and thats all anybody can do, I really do think that the best thing you could do is ignore trolls but you may think otherwise, yes I E-mailed you in private to ask why you were giving someone else on the BB a hard time....you never answered me...?
