which has corrupted not only any sense of ethics in Science but
has totally undermined the peer-review process with a quid pro quo
mentality. A reviewer must put a stamp of approval on nebulous
research because they know that their agenda-driven "research"
will similarly have to be reviewed on the morrow.
Too often the less-than-stellar professional students, for lack of
better word, they certainly are marginal researchers at best,
decide which outcome they desire and then tailor their research
to result in the desired outcome. I think Dr. Fauci falls into that
pigeon hole...

And as this thread demonstrates to me, our schools no longer
teach critical thinking so thanks to the internet, we rely on Google
to come up with the experts who say what fits into a particular
political agenda and that is what passes for thinking. Everyone who
can do a simple search now considers themselves as some sort of
modern day Paracelsus. The cry is "FOLLOW THE SCIENCE" when
what is really meant is "follow my Google results..."

And I'm sorry, it is the unimaginative culturally woke Left that
falls prey to this pattern when it comes to politicized Science.

The risk of similar coronavirus outbreaks in the future remains high.

Yes, a lot of these viruses spring up in the wild and are transmitted to humans.

That in no way implies that EVERY outbreak occurs in this manner.
If it were natural transmission, then it would have begun 1000 miles away.
It did not. It occurred in the neighborhood where gain-of-function research
was being conducted. Furthermore, since extensive testing has yielded no
other wet-market infected animals, one has to assume that there was simply
no one-off infected bat that infected one person(s) when the lab sent three
infected researchers to the hospital. Stop using Google to replace critical thought.

On the other hand, we KNOW that this particular mutation has yet to be found in any wild population of animals.

This raises the question that, if there's no wild population carrying this particular mutation of the virus, where did it come from?

I don't think that's even close to accurate because I don't think anyone is, or has ever, claimed that there's a "secret lab" in Wuhan.


What people are saying is that the circumstantial evidence points to a lab leak.

We have scientists saying it last spring based on known history of that exact lab having issues with sample containment and control. We have Fauci having secret meetings and emails about it. We have China destroying samples and research records for the testing done on it. We have ground zero being Wuhan province. We have no findings of this strain of the virus ANYWHERE in the wild. There are no wild bat populations with similar strains of this virus near Wuhan.

Add it up and what you get are coo coos denying the lab leak theory in favor of saying that an unknown wild bat, from a location we cannot discover, did something wild bats generally don't do and bit someone, who immediately headed for the wet market in Wuhan to spread the disease around and that's where the virus kicked off the pandemic.

The lab is no secret. It's well known.

Satellite data from Wuhan area showed unusually high volumes of traffic in hospitals as early as September 2019. It was being spread around the world from Wuhan much earlier than thought.

Even if your very flawed theory of origin is correct, the place it became widely known around the world was Wuhan. The Spanish flu likely didn't originate in Spain, it was the only country that publicized the infection rates as most countries were involved in WW1 and didn't want to show weakness. Hence Spanish flu name.

Ebola is named after the Ebola river in the Congo where the first big outbreak occurred.

So the name Wuhan flu or China flu is very applicable from historical precedent. Race has nothing to do with it. It is the place of origin or according to you just where it became "famous".

The most recent study, and empirical evidence from the past year, coupled with previous data, show clearly that HCL is effective in at least mitigating the symptoms and helping patients recover faster with no side effects from the medication.


Meanwhile, you're on the side of those who limited the use of the drug.

I wonder if you also feel responsible for those people who died who might have been saved had they been able to be given HCL? Or, are you just as flippant over that tragedy too?

Maybe, like Cuomo, you should write a book about how implementing political ideology which leads to hundreds of thousands of deaths, is "leadership" and "progress."
