Wuhan Flu update.

Maybe if you looked beyond your borders you would have noticed that at least a dozen countries have done much better than the Americas and Western Europe, largely because they did not quibble over every petty detail and had one thing in common - a sense of responsibility to their fellow citizens.

It's an interesting trait of the old world that they never think the others can do anything better than them, or teach them anything, even when they do! :)

There is no end to the b*******. Americans did poorly because Americans are fat. That's also the reason why my American spend more in healthcare it isn't because socialized medicine is better or because we didn't wear enough masks...it's because Americans are fat. We are well fed and we feed our poor with lots of money for really poor quality food.

The human costs of this induced mass hysteria continue: https://www.cpr.org/2021/05/25/covid-mental-health-childrens-hospital-colorado/

. . .and the usual fans of "for the greater good" will continue to insist their actions were moral and justifiable.

Those little shits need to toughen up and quit being snowflakes. Damn kids and their mental health issues.

Seems like before you go asking for professional credentials, you need to post some yourself.

I did not, Rapey. Shaddup and stay in your lane.

Nope, in this case I'm with you. Studies never did support restricting kids activities as much as it happened.

Of course, mental health issues in kids have been increasing for years but when I used to bring that up, I was told it was just bad parenting or that the teachers wanted to drug our kids to calm them. Now it's a conservative talking point. How interesting.

There is also the fact that natural selection played a part.

American's are lazy and out of shape. We eat poorly, sleep less than we should, and overstress ourselves on a daily (if not hourly) basis. We work indoors when it's known that sunlight and fresh air help our bodies remain as healthy as we can be.

Gee, I wonder if this denialism could also be associated with the reporting on the effectiveness of Covid prevention and where it didn't come from?

luk, the pretty little liar of Lit.

Of course in your head, "you" didn't post...

I would consider those academic credentials, not professional ones. And you're whole alt thing is lame as fuck. Just because multiple people think you're a dipshit doesn't mean it's all the same person.

So why did Brits and French and Spaniards and Brazilians and Peruvians and Italians and Swedes and super skinny Indians and Iranians and god knows how many other countries do just as badly without the benefit of all that lard. :D

And BTW this thread is about Covid - not health care finance.

As to Bullshit - I acknowledge your expertise - as shown by the above quoted example.

And Qbert is switched out for Tim. That's sure to work out well.

You really shouldn't open your mouth when it comes to logic or rhetorical argument because it gives away the fact that you haven't spent a single day in law school much less have the degree that you claim to have.

Yeah, we should all believe a cross dressing tiny homo.

"Was it purposely released? Was it an engineered virus?" are both immaterial to wearing a mask, washing your hands regularly for 20+ seconds to a good lather, keeping your distance, non-essential workers staying home and getting immunized to prevent the spread of the virus.

this.

Every time Ish makes a brand new GB-based Covid-19/soft politics thread just so he can type out "Wuhan Flu" in order to make himself feel better as a threatened conservative White oldboy in an ever-changing society that's phasing him and his out of the future, his adjacent sidekick schmucks end up taking massive L's trying to run interference yap for him. Every. Time.

I guess the thank-you gifts at X'mas must be worth it or something. What could they be? Norelco electric razors? Sets of Ginsu steak knives? Refurbished George Foreman grills?

And who brought up face masks, hand washing, etc? Wasn't me Sparky.

Well, it's been a little over a year since the Wuhan Flu turned the world upside down. What have we learned?

In the lock down vs. no lock down battle there appears to be no clear winner. As predicted the virus found a way to defeat most measures put in place. The only real difference between the two approaches was the severe economic damage suffered by those governmental entities that went the hard lock down route.

Yes folks, it did come from that lab in Wuhan. Only the hardest core shill for the CCP is trying to pretend otherwise now. Once again I 'called the ball' on that one. The only questions left to be answered are;

1. Was it purposely released?

2. Was it an engineered virus?

On the first question I'll posit "No". I think it was a result of typical Chinese sloppy safeguards.

The answer to the second is way above my pay grade but serious researchers are now beginning to ask that same question. The problem here is that the CCP has had plenty of time to cover it's tracks. An investigation into this question should have been started almost immediately.

We were assured by the Media and respected researchers that the virus did NOT originate in that lab and that there was "no way" that this was an engineered virus. Media and researchers that all turned out to be lying sons a bitches. I hold the media especially at fault in that instead of digging for the truth they were actively complicit in burying the truth. Journalism in any real sense of the word is dead. Blindly believe the media, any media, at your own peril.

On the "Was the virus engineered?" question, people are going to believe what they want to believe, but the fact that scientists in a Wuhan lab apparently got sick with a virus that was ... circulating in the city of Wuhan does not seem like rock-solid evidence to me.

The question should indeed be looked into, but the safer bet is that the disease arose much the same way that new diseases have arisen throughout history.

Lolz, you is so funny.

Stupid, but funny.

Except there's some evidence, based on a timeline, that a lab worker was patient zero and he infected others in the city.
