Writing Goal for the Day?

I've not had a lot of time on the laptop this past week, but hopefully that will change. I did manage some writing this morning, while the crew slept. They are waking up now, so I'm off for a bit. Hopefully tonight I can get more done. :D

Good luck and have fun :)

I was admonished for having the nerve to want to enter a daily writing contest, where the horror prompt was:

Tell me a scary story about something you find in a sale.

ALL the women in my life thought that it was a good thing that I do NOT write a damn thing. Spawn, my pal, differed, but he hid in his game room, away from the women..

Another swatch of the story is done. So far one character is sitting on wet pavement, in the rain, with an injured shoulder. Another character is unconscious and restrained inside a van. And a third character is arrested by the cops after getting naked, crawling along the floor (beneath the clothes racks) at Wally World, and licking women's shoes.

Hoping I might write a little today but Mr Penn has some work that needs doing. Sigh. Hate that his company can't seem to get things together and he has to put in weekend time.

Down to editing the last part of my BDSM Novel.

I am just finding out that writing was the easiest part of this debacle.

I finished the actual writing end of April and for the last three months its been editing until my eyes are bleeding, cover design, formatting, creating a blog, getting together my mailing list for the launch and a bunch of other little details that are pissing me off.

Can't wait to put this sucker to bed, its getting to be a monkey on my back.

Maybe a bit of editing, but hoping to get a head start on the work week so I can steal Thursday morning for myself.

ETA: Gah! After getting some motivation to edit, I find out that next year's Tour has three (three!) stages in Corsica. So, so tempting to go to my half-finished Corsica sequel and work it in, especially since the Tour is both finishing and starting from the city I've based the story in.

I've submitted my last chapter to Lit. I'm finding the discrimiation and favouritism too appaulling to post anything further.

Almost every endeavor succumbs to Sacred Cow Disease. Its sad but its the nature of people to do it.

Slugging away on the final review of habu's "first times" GM anthology to be relaunched in late August and hung over from getting a mainstream thriller novel manuscript back to an author last night in which I had to suggest 100,000 words of cuts. Also, starting to research a Dirk Hessian "Shore of Tripoli" pirate romp.

My goal for today:

Post as many chapters as possible to AFC Stories of my completed chapters before I have to go to work today (I start at 5 PM and work til 10 PM, so I'll be gone by 4 PM.).

I so agree!! I have also discovered that writing the work is the easy part! My sis has a degree in graphic design and is going to help me with a cover design, formatting, etc. Probably blogging as well, since she is very much into blogging. I get her for a discounted rate - yay me. :D

Holy shit, 100,000k in cuts?

How long was the damn thing?

And I wonder what the look on his face was when he saw that?

It appears Mr Penn will still be working a while... they damn well better give him a comp day for this. But perhaps, with the PennKids in bed, I can try writing on something...

I hoped to get another thousand words or so of a horror story down (way in advance of the Hallowe'en contest). I've been putting it off because of an assortment of distractions the last few days. Good distractions, but distractions nonetheless.
And I actually did it! Now to repeat this tomorrow or do I have to work on some of those distractions?
This BB is one of those distractions so I try to make sure I write first and then check this website after.

Well, work has taken me to Lancaster, PA, for the next couple of weeks while I search for a new manager for one of our retail stores. If you've never been to Lancaster, it's one of the most uptight, repressed places I know. I'll need to spend my evenings writing something hot, dirty, and sexy just to balance out the ID of this place - >sigh<

Hey Bucky! Wave at me from the turnpike. ;) I'm not too far from Lancaster. It's probably way less uptight over here.

Damn, half out the window, that's a lot of useless information.

Some people write with the theory that the more words you use the better the story is true. It's not true, though. There's a point of vanishing returns.

Writing goal = complete!

Finished Chapter 3 of New Life in a New World and sent off for peer edits. Hoping to have uploaded by this week. After a month of writers block, I'm thrilled to have this chapter finished.

Will have to save the waving for the trip home, but will do! :) Otherwise, I find this area of PA interesting. I'm guessing it's the Mennonite and Amish influences. I've met some outrageous people in this area (like a friend who was the first, practicing Wiccian I met years ago) - but the vibe of this area just feels off to me. I used to travel to Philly regularly and I think I prefer that area. I have family all over Pittsburgh, but they're distant cousins I don't know.

As for writing - I was scanning through my Survivor scorecard and realizing I need to get some stories written if I want to be respectable to my goals. Started working on a CFNM story that I think I will be able to place in Nonconsent/Mind Control. If I'm lucky, I'll finish it off tonight.

I'm east of Lancaster, outside Philly. I go through the Amish area from time to time, more so now that my SIL moved to that general area, although not Lancaster itself. Still, we see the occasional horse and buggy on the road there.

Good luck. Thought I might get some writing done last night but I just could not focus.

Completed todays writing installment, and changed one scene to increase its plausibility. KISS is always the way to go. All is cohesive and coherent, and the next installment is poised to go tomorrow.

A distribution website wants a 500-1,000 story for its newsletter frontpage. Well, OK, that will be a challenge. On the upside I got Christmas cards painted in the wee early hours of the morning and am set up to do more today. And a pen name mystery manuscript is back from publisher editing today. So the day is cut out for me.
