Right now, I'm about 4000 words into my first draft and I'm sort of liking it. They are just starting to get intimate. Maybe that's too much stage setting, but that's for me to worry about later when I go back through it. Since I'm seeing this as a contest entry, I might actually proofread and edit this one, LMAO!

Even though incest has a rep as a stroke category, don't be afraid to have some build up. There is an audience there for more than "hey sis has tits, I wanna play with them". My stories are all around 5 pages and they get pretty decent ratings.

And proofreading is good.

Of course I edited and proofread my winter contest entry twice, and once it posted I realized that partway down the first page I referred to a Sandra as "Sarah". no one seemed to notice (or if they did they did not call me out on it.) It still pissed me off though.

Sitting, ready to write, after a lost day yesterday. Spent the day with the family, part of the time traveling to and from the Paramus, NJ, IKEA, where we had only ONE fight, and that was near the end of the shopping trip. My wife was feeling bad that she couldn't get the items she intitially wanted for the child: one was out-of-stock, the other could not fit into our car. She did, FINALLY, get a dresser with both a glass top AND mirror, something she's wanted since she was a child.

Let's see if I write actual stories today or edit old ones.

Today I'm trying to finish up good-ish drafts of parts 3 & 4 of my latest story "Working the Cubicles".

I'm also trying to complete a rough draft of part 5.

There's three chapters left in my story that I haven't really touched yet and I'm slightly intimidated by the prospect of the work. Mostly because I set a goal of January 15th for myself to e-publish this story as my first novella on the Amazon Kindle as well as Smashwords (possibly).

I'm a big noob though so mainly I'm just hoping this all works out.

Gaelic is more indicative of Druids then witches.

If you have to make something up though, it wouldn't be terrible.

For the hell of it, in a one shot story here I mixed satanism with a wiccan style celebration of samhain to see if anyone noticed. It was an orgy piece so I guess most were just stroking. Finally two weeks after it came out someone e-mailed me and said that the pairing was ludicrous and asked if I knew what I was talking about.

I have fictional characters in a factual time, so details to history have to be real. Faking it would really cheapen not only the scene, but the rest of the story. If nothing 'real' shows up, it would be better to just do a mention of the curses and spells, without going into any details. Even the ghosts in the story have history they're based on, to be real and not embellish or take it Hollywood. I will say, some really wierd and wacky shit happened back then, so what's real and what's not, still remains a question.

Haha. No, neither Avatar nor the TV is in 3D (we were on a budget). PennBoy has seen LOTR before, so he might be good for that. And he's been back into Star Wars lately so I myself have to admit to a bit of SW fatigue. Still we have plenty to choose from.

Which Star Wars do you prefer? Original, or with the added footage?

I was wrong, kids do go back on Tuesday not Wednesday. So I should be able to write something! I did wake up with a couple new ideas. One EC - One Celebrity (gay male), and One Incest. Before I start any of those I will finish the one I had been working on prior to Christmas break. It may end up in the Valentine Contest after all depending on the muse. I do believe over the next couple days I'll be hauling my baby laptop around. My nephew will be job hunting and I'll be driving him around, so I get to sit in the car while he does the application thing.

I've spent some time over the last couple of days learning how to use MobiPocket. I was learning with someone else's story, not mine, so I actually had fun with it.

I also set a goal for myself today -- to not get out of my pajamas. So far, so good.

Now maybe I'll quit goofing off and really get something constructive done.

I was able to write after taking the laptop to the basement, slippng my funny cat slippers on my feet and pounding away on the keyboard, followed by taking the laptop to the local McD's and pounding out more words of naughtiness while I waited on the kid to finish her 2 hour shift at Subway. Home now, edited and submitting to the powers of Lit. 15K words and 4 pages deep. Yay for basements (though mine was super cold).

Now I can try and concentrate on another idea that popped in my head, or maybe tackle a Valentine Day contest entry. I'm leaning toward Valentine since the thread to officially announce it should pop up soon, if it hasn't already and I have just missed it.

I go back to work tomorrow so I'm trying to get as much done as possible on the first chapter of my Circle series.

The people who have bookmarked me will most likely be very disappointed this year. Although I'll probably cough up an occasional incest story (they're like guilty pleasures) this year will be about The Circle and going back to my BDSM roots.

My incest series featured quite a bit of BDSM and I did introduce the Circle in the Final chapters of it(and in graphic fashion as the pile of hate mail I received from trolls tells me) My readers are pledging to follow my new series but I highly doubt they will. At the end of the day, no one is related and they will lose interest.

Incest has spoiled me, I'll have to get used to seeing votes in the 50's as opposed to the hundreds.

Well this morning I checked on the date for the Valentine Contest and was happy to see I have several days ahead of me that I can work on a submission, so I'll be doing that on the side. Damn, I know that feeling. I'm 10,000 words into my VD submission and thinking, "Really?" I might need to re-think it to keep it between 15-17K - which is my self-imposed target.

I never set a word limit. The stories goes until it is told.
